(Warning! A bit of blood and gore, if you want to skip it I suggest going around the 7 minute mark!)
Susie and Magolor floated through the forest. It was so quiet that all they could hear was the peaceful wind blowing through the trees, the crinkling of leaves, and the soft chatter of Locandra's creatures. The sounds gradually faded as they ventured further, entering the Aerogree Dimension, right back where Magolor had started. Here, the once wet grass Magolor had landed at the start of his journey was now dry, its bright green grass was a stark contrast to Locandra's purple goo and snow. Though Magolor could've been here for years, months, weeks or even days and the nostalgia of this place was undeniable.
He had been trailing behind Susie, his gaze fixed on her bright pink hair bouncing with each step. She wore a dark grey skirt and a dirty pink shirt, holding an apple slice in her yellow dirty gloves. Magolor had volunteered to hold the apple, but Susie insisted he needed to preserve his energy for whatever challenges lay ahead, though despite those warnings no creatures attacked them like last time. They seemed to be at peace, walking around and nibbling on the plants and flowers, a peaceful life Magolor desired long ago and even now he wishes to not have risked his life every day, even if the rewards are high, a normal life seemed safer and better for the people around him. His eyes softened to the creatures he walked past him and he glanced back at Susie smiling, a peaceful life with her? Would've been a dream come true...
As he watched her, Magolor realized Susie rarely spoke to him now. She was usually the one to start conversations, and he wondered if their parting was making her sad. Despite her eccentric personality that caused him to be annoyed or angry at times, Magolor did value their friendship deeply. If he was going to miss her, surely, she would feel the same way. He stopped in his tracks and tapped Susie lightly on the back. She halted but didn't turn to face him. Her long hair fluttered in the wind, and Magolor felt a pang of unease. He took a deep breath, determined not to make a fool of himself.
"It seems like w-we finally reached the end of our journey," he began, his voice wavering. "It really went full circle, am I right?"
Magolor chuckled nervously, feeling unusually flustered. Speaking sincerely was foreign to him; he was used to his salesman persona, always trying to entice someone for his benefit. But with Kirby and now Susie, he wanted nothing more than their genuine company and affection. He gulped, scratching his ear, and muttered to himself.
"Oh, you know what, who cares! This is coming from the heart; might as well just say what's on my mind!"
He sighed deeply, trying to overcome the awkwardness.
"Listen, Susie, even though we had our differences, I-I just really had a fun time adventuring with you. Sure, it might have been for both our benefits, but I don't think I've ever opened up like this to anyone. Honestly, I just wish this journey would never end!"
As he spoke, he kept his gaze fixed on the bright green grass below him, feeling a mix of nervousness and warmth. He admired Kirby's ability to be open with his emotions, wondering how he managed it so effortlessly.
"Haha, I guess I'm being really selfish for asking that, but I wondered if you feel the same—"
Before he could finish, he saw water droplets fall on the patch of green grass. The apple slice dropped to the ground, and he looked up to see Susie crying. Her tears dripped down her smooth skin, and despite her attempts to manage them with her yellow gloves, they kept spilling. Magolor instinctively hugged her, and though Susie was initially confused, she gradually clung to him, her tears soaking his white torn-up cape. He didn't mind; all he could hear was her mumbled "thank you."
They stayed like this for a few minutes until Susie pulled away, picking up the apple slice to check if it had been damaged. Relieved to find it intact she then this put the apple slice on a tree stump and sighed.
