As the carriages stopped. Pearl looked outside with a sad look in her eyes. "Pearl? Are you alright dear?" Violet Bridgerton asked the youngest Featherington daughter. Pearl looked over at Violet and said, "I just wished my family was here to join me. It seems though my mother has given up after she found Prudence and Phillipa husbands. She doesn't seem to care about me and Pen anymore." Violet grabbed Pearl hand to make the girl look at her and said, "Never think that your mother doesn't care for you. When I heard your mother was done with seasons. I knew that you shouldn't have a chance and that is why I asked your mother if you could join this season." Pearl smiled and said, "I appreciate it, Lady Bridgerton." The door man opened the door to let the ladies out and all the men walked by the ladies as Colin came by Pearl. She looked up at him as he raised his arm to her with she took and followed Lady Bridgerton inside of the building. As they arrived Colin let go of Pearl's arm and grabbed her hand giving it a kiss. "Good Luck, Miss Featherington and walked away."
The family left except for Francesca. Pearl, and Violet as they watched all the ladies being announced. "This is your debutant, Francesca; how come you aren't excited?" Violet asked her daughter as she was between the ladies. "I suppose going into society might allow me to find someone to love." Violet smiled then looked at Pearl and said, "What about you Pearl?" Pearl looked at Violet and said, "To find someone who will love me for me and to show the ton that I am not like any of my sisters." Francesca said, "I would love to have some peace. You are truly lucky to have it." Pearl looked at Francesca and said, "I would love to have what you have Francesca. To have laughter in my house is all that I wish for." Violet looked at both girls and said, "Francesca, you might find this overwhelming if you would like peace." Francesca grabbed her mother's hand and said, "Mama, do not worry. If I can find peace in the chaos of our home, then I can find my way through the season."
Violet nodded, then looked at Pearl and said, "If you truly want the laughter, you look for. You are more than welcome to visit and stay with us in our home. I am helping you find a husband darling." Pearl nodded, then the image of Colin came to mind and said, "Colin has definitely become more rugged over his travels." This made Francesca snort and said, "Please do not tell me you are looking to marry Colin already." Francesca said teasing even though she loved the thought of her best friend and her brother together. "No, no, no. I don't mean in that way. All I am saying is that he is to be the most popular bachelor of the season." Violet nodded, when the doors opened, they heard their names being called. "Miss Francesca Bridgerton and Miss Pearl Feathering being presented by the Honorable Dowager Lady Bridgerton."
Pearl looked at the room and suddenly she couldn't breathe, and Violet saw that both girls stopped. Francesca looked at Pearl and grabbed her hand making Pearl look at her and Francesca nodded making Pearl nod. The two girls let go of each other's hand and walked with their head held up high. As they reached The Queen they curtsied showing respect to her majesty. The Queen saw Pearl as Brimsley said, "She is Lady Featherington's youngest daughter. She is very different from the rest of her siblings." The Queen saw this as she stood up and walked over to Pearl. She lifted pearls chin making the girl look at her as she said, "Elegant my dear. A true jewel of the season. Light as a feather. Different from your sisters." Pearl smiled at The Queen as the girls stood up and walked out of the room.
