I fought a battle for you
Waterloo
Waterloo
I lost the battle for you
Waterloo
Waterloo
I'd take care of all the consequences
clean up the rooms on your bad days
I'd hold your heart like baby birds
carefully, tenderly
I'd be the gold in your mouth at morning
even if you can't understand
learn to speak all languages, go everywhere
for your soul, for you
But my weapons had no bullets
and my army had nothing to eat
I wasn't overthrown by confidence
but I fought till the last heartbeat
I'd support you in the things you love
cheer for you from the front line
wait for you when you're trying clothes on
wait for you, all my life
I'd let you oversleep on Sundays
keep you warm like the sun in summer
I'd accept compromise if you asked me
put my pride aside
Maybe you could've been my answer
now we'll never know
maybe you were bound to disappoint me
like all people do
if that's the case, I don't want to know
in my story I fought for you
Waterloo
Waterloo
I lost the battle for you
Waterloo
Waterloo
