The room was cold and sterile, a stark contrast to the lavishness that defined most of the Continental's hidden chambers. Bianca Moretti sat at the center of the interrogation room; her hands cuffed to the steel table before her. The harsh light above cast sharp shadows across her face, highlighting the tension in her features. The door to the room creaked open, and Rafael Delgado entered, followed by two enforcers who took their positions near the walls, their presence a silent reminder of the power dynamics at play.
Rafael moved with the calculated grace of a man who had long mastered the art of control. He took a seat opposite Bianca, his cold eyes studying her every move. Bianca met his gaze with a defiance that was tempered by the knowledge of her dangerous position.
"Bianca Moretti," Rafael began, his voice low and deliberate. "You've been a valuable asset to the Continental for many years. But recent events have raised questions about your loyalty. I need you to clarify where your allegiances truly lie."
Bianca's heart pounded in her chest, but she forced herself to maintain a calm exterior. She knew this moment would come eventually, and she had been prepared for it as best she could. Still, the stakes were higher than she had ever imagined.
"My loyalty has always been to the Continental," Bianca replied, her voice steady despite the tension. "But I've also seen how easily loyalty can be twisted or forgotten. I had to protect myself."
Rafael leaned forward slightly; his gaze unyielding. "Protect yourself? By conspiring with Bella Martino? By giving her access to our armory and security systems?"
Bianca's breath caught for a moment. She had hoped that detail would remain hidden, but Rafael's knowledge was dangerously thorough. She knew she had to tread carefully.
"Yes," she admitted, her tone measured. "I made a deal with Bella. But it was never about betraying the Continental. It was about survival—about ensuring that if things went wrong, I wouldn't be the one left holding the bag."
Rafael's expression remained inscrutable, but Bianca could see the calculation in his eyes. He was weighing her words, assessing whether she was telling the truth or lies. "And what about Lucien Monet?" Rafael continued, his voice growing colder. "You've been working with him to undermine Alexander Sinclair, haven't you?"
Bianca knew this was where things could get dangerous. She had to be careful not to implicate herself too deeply while also maintaining enough of the truth to keep Rafael at bay. "Lucien and I had an understanding," she said carefully. "We both saw Alexander as a threat to the stability of the Continental. We knew that if Alexander gained too much power, it would destabilize everything. But we never intended to overthrow you, Rafael. We wanted to ensure that the Continental remained strong. You don't see how foolish Alexander is? He would have given Bella the moon and the stars, if she had asked them."
Rafael's lips curled into a thin, dangerous smile. "Is that so? And I suppose your vendetta against me had nothing to do with it? Your late husband's death—how convenient that you've allied yourself with those who seek to weaken my position."
Bianca's eyes flashed with anger, but she kept her voice controlled. "My husband's death was a tragedy, yes. But I didn't let it blind me to what's necessary for the Continental. I've always done what's best for this organization. Even if it means making deals with people like Bella."
Rafael leaned back in his chair, his expression contemplative. He was silent for a long moment, and the tension in the room grew unbearable. Finally, he spoke again, his voice a deadly whisper.
"Bianca, you've played a dangerous game. Aligning yourself with Bella, plotting with Lucien—all of it could be seen as treason. But I'm not a man without mercy. I understand why you did what you did. But the Continental cannot afford divided loyalties."
Bianca's heart sank. She knew what was coming next.
Rafael stood, towering over her, his presence menacing. "As of this moment, you are relieved of all duties within the Continental. Your assets will be frozen, and you will be placed under house arrest until further notice. If you attempt to contact anyone—Bella, Lucien, or anyone else—I will personally ensure that you disappear, just like your husband."
Bianca's blood ran cold at the threat, but she forced herself to remain composed. "I understand, Rafael," she said quietly, knowing that any further protest would only make things worse.
Rafael nodded to the enforcers, who stepped forward to escort her out of the room. As they led her away, Bianca's mind raced. She still had the recording of her conversation with Bella—a last resort, a weapon she could use if everything else failed. But she knew she had to be careful.
As the door closed behind her, leaving her alone with her thoughts, Bianca knew that her next move would be critical. The Continental was unraveling from within, and she had to find a way to survive the chaos. She had already lost so much—her husband, her freedom—and now she faced losing everything else.
But Bianca Moretti wasn't one to go down without a fight. And as she was led to her confinement, she vowed to find a way to turn the tables on Rafael Delgado. She had survived too much to let him win now.
