Mialotte - I Get to Love You

Mia and Charlotte sat holding hands in the waiting room of the fertility clinic, anxiously awaiting their names to be called. "I'm nervous, baby. What if this doesn't work? We only have 7 viable embryos that are healthy for transfer..." Mia worriedly asks Char, fiddling with Char's wedding ring to keep herself calm. "Amelia, we've gone over this. We've done everything we were instructed to do with the fertility shots and medications. You've been eating healthy, and taking all of the necessary vitamins. The only thing we can do now, is go through this transfer and wait. Everything will be okay, baby. I promise. And remember, if it doesn't work out that you can carry our baby, I'm more than willing to try, okay?" Charlotte responds to her, taking her empty hands and brushing the hair out of Mia's face before placing a gentle kiss on her cheek. "Okay, Sweetheart. Thank you." Mia says. She wanted to say more, but at that moment they heard the nurse call out, "Amelia and Charlotte Roberts?"

They're both stood, Mia gripping Char's hands even tighter now, and followed the nurse to a small room to get Mia's vitals checked. After they had completed Mia's vitals, the nurse took them back to their examination room. The nurse asked Mia and Charlotte all of the required questions, instructed Mia to undress from the waist down, keeping what looked like a giant paper napkin draped across her lap, and let her know that the doctor would be with them momentarily. As Mia undressed and sat on the bed with the paper draped over her, she looked over to see Charlotte giggling at her, trying so hard to not start hysterically laughing. "What's so funny?" Mia asked in an accusatory tone. "Nothing!" Charlotte said, trying really hard not to lose her composure. "It's just that, I had a really funny thought is all. I can tell you later, so you're not embarrassed when the doctor comes in," Charlotte said, clearly trying not to pee herself at this point. "Charlotte Victoria, what dirty little thought just ran through your mind that you're not telling me?" Mia said in a stern, yet still soft tone. "Well..." Charlotte turned away, embarrassed. "I was think-" she started to tell Mia as there was a soft knock on the door and the doctor came into the room. Mia looked at Char and said quietly, "We'll discuss this later." 

"Welcome back you two! How are we feeling today, Mia?" The doctor asked as she pulled up Mia's file on the computer. "I'm fine. A little nervous, but excited as well." Mia said, taking Charlotte's hand and squeezing it, knowing that her sweetheart would calm her nerves with the smallest touch. "That's to be expected. Being nervous means you're normal. I would be worried if you weren't." The doctor said, smiling brightly at Mia before continuing, "Right. So let's go over our plan one more time, just to make sure we have everything set in stone, and then we will begin the procedure." "Okay!" Charlotte and Mia say together, giggling a bit at the way they said it at the same time. They went over the plan, explaining that they were going to implant two embryos, so the chance of them having two babies was a higher probability, and so they could each have a biological child. The doctor explained that Mia needed to rest in the office for about an hour after the procedure before going home, and then relax the rest of the day as well. She needed to wait at least ten days before taking a pregnancy test, and then come back to the office on day fourteen so they can do a blood test and an ultrasound to make sure everything was on track. "Does everything sound good? Any questions before we begin?" The doctor asked the couple. Char and Mia looked at each other, smiling before looking back at the doctor as Mia answered, "No questions. We are ready to begin, to start our next chapter together."

The procedure was quite simple, and only took about twenty minutes. The doctor said it went perfectly, and told Mia to take it easy and rest, and that they would send a nurse in to let them know when it was okay for them to head home. The nurse then brought in a couple bottles of water and a few snacks for them while they waited, and then left the couple to themselves to relax. Charlotte took Mia's hand in one of hers, and cupped the other gently on her face, looking at her with tears in her eyes. "Mia, I am so proud of you. You are so strong, and I am so excited to see our family grow, and to see you become an amazing mother." Mia looked at her wife, tears falling down her face as she said, "Charlotte... I love you so much. Thank you for being by my side through everything. I am so excited for our future, and to see you become an amazing mother, too, Sweetheart." There wasn't much talking from the two after that. Mostly just some mumbled "I love you"s and lots of cuddles as they were both emotional about the experience they just went through together. After about forty-five minutes, the nurse came in and told them that they were alright to head home, and reiterated that Mia was to take it easy for the rest of the day. They made their way to the car, and Charlotte made sure that Mia didn't do a thing for herself. She opened all of the doors in the doctors office, and opened the car door, even going as far as to buckle her into the passenger seat. Once she was sure that Mia was comfortable, she got in the drivers seat and drove them home, almost embarrassingly slow, so she wouldn't hurt her babies.
