Dallas woke up to see that Hazel wasn't in bed. Worried, he shot out of bed and headed downstairs, only to see her packing by the window again. "Morning!" Hazel said with a joyful laugh, "Packing again?" Dallas asked as he rubbed his eyes.

"These suitcases ain't gonna pack themselves," Hazel said as she folded not of her clothes, "You need help?" Dallas asked, "Not right now, but I'll let you know when I do," Hazel said. Dallas walked over and sat on the couch and watched her.

"Nine more days then I'm outta here!" Hazel said with excitement, "Don't remind me," Dallas said as he bit his nails, "You're gonna be okay, and get your nails away from your teeth," Hazel said, causing Dallas to put his hand back down.

"What is Buck doing for Christmas?" Hazel asked, "Gonna see family," Dallas said, "So it's just gonna be us? Better have gotten me a good present," Hazel said, "I did, don't worry," Dallas said, "Do you wanna know something super funny?" "What?" "I don't believe you!" "Pushing my patience again?" "You're so dramatic."

"I don't want you to leave," "I know you don't, but it'll be fine!" "How are you gonna make money up there?" "I'll get a job and work on weekends or days I have off from school," "Shit," "What?" "So you have your life together already. So you won't be coming back," "I'll be back for spring and summer break. Why are you stressed about this? You said that you wouldn't be. You promised."

"I lied. What if I get into shit and then you're not here to help me? What if-" "Dal, you're overthinking everything again. You gotta stop with that. Everything will be fine. You will be fine," Hazel said as she held both of his hands. Dallas slightly flinched as her glacial hands connected with his, sending shivers throughout his body.

He was crazy for her. Too crazy. Stalker level crazy. Having Hazel leave was going to be the end of the world for him. He knew when she leaves, he'll because his old self, but worse. So much worse. "I know it's your future and all, but can I speak my truth for a minute?" Dallas asked, moving his hands away from her's.

"Of course you can," Hazel said. Her words, her voice was music to Dallas's ears. "You need to stay," Dallas said. Hazel let out a chuckle, "You already said that-" "I was being serious. You need to stay. Not gotta, need," Dallas said as he cupped her face in his hands.

"You're insane Dal," Hazel said, laughing still, "I'm being serious," Dallas said. He wasn't smiling, causing Hazel's heart sink. Dallas was too obsessed with her. Her gut feeling was clear that she needs to leave. "You're insane Dal," Hazel said with a profound tone.

Hazel got Dallas's hands away from her, then she started packing again. "You can't just act like nothing happened-" "Watch me Dallas," Hazel said in a stern voice. Dallas looked at her with confusion. "What the fuck is your problem?" "You! You're the problem! You need to stay away from me for a bit," Hazel said as she finished packing the last bag.

"You're already leaving in a few days though," "Yeah, and I think you should get into the rhythm of not seeing me before I leave. Starting today. You're too crazy about me. You need to let me go," Hazel said. Those words stabbed him in the back. "You can't leave. Where will you go?" "That's none of your business. I'll call you in a few," Hazel said as she walked out with her bags.

"A few what?" Dallas said as he followed her out the house, "Minutes? Hours? Days?" "Yes. That's all I'm gonna say. Yes," Hazel said as she continued to walk away, "You can't leave now!" "Watch me."
