💎 Y/N 💎

I closed my eyes, relaxing my body, taking slow but deep breaths, constantly struggling to shut off my wandering thoughts and trying to get even a minute of sleep but failed miserably. I have been rolling on the bed, trying various ways to fall asleep for almost an hour now, but my thoughts didn't take me anywhere near to falling asleep. The thoughts about my friend, Wait! No, my brother's best friend being alone in distress, kept me wide awake despite my attempts and efforts to fall asleep. I am very well aware of the fact that what he is going through is not at all my concern, considering the present state of our friendship or whatever it is. But my heart, filled with empathy, is not cooperating with my logical thinking, and hence, is contradicting my brain.

The urge to go and stay beside him is increasing as time passes. As far as I know him, he is not the type of person who expresses himself well. He keeps everything within him and is very bad at expressing his emotions and feelings. Last time at his house, my anger on him pushed him to let out his emotions. I don't know what he is doing right now on the terrace. But I'm sure about one thing, he would put all the blame on himself for everything that had happened.

With a single push, I released myself from the blanket cage and stood on my feet. I
My hands swiftly went to the doorknob to open it but the dilemma of whether to go or not paused my actions. After all, I have nothing to lose by being with him for some time. After a quick deep breath, I pulled the door open and carefully placed each step so as not to make any noise. It might be a mess if someone gets to know I'm going to meet him.

As I started climbing the stairs, the cold breeze of the night caressed my skin, and as I reached the terrace, the soft white glow of the moon and the twinkling stars welcomed me. What a beautiful sight! The night sky definitely has a soothing effect on me, irrespective of how it looks.

I went through the open door, immersed in the stunning beauty of the sky.

"Angel?", his weak voice turned my attention towards him. "Why are you here?", he asked, standing up from the floor.

"For fresh air", I replied looking up at the moon. "What about you? Why are you here at this hour?", I asked.

"Just to admire the beauty of the night", he said, attempting hard to look genuine with his false smile. He quickly averted his gaze towards the sky, clearly avoiding eye contact with me. But I'm not letting that slide. I moved in front of him and stood facing him with crossed arms. He looked at me, surprised by my sudden move.

"Do I look like a fool in your eyes?", I asked, arching my eyebrow.

"No. Why?", he asked slowly, trying to comprehend the situation from my expressions, which would barely be visible in the moonlight.

"Nothing", I said with a sigh, and continued, "Do you know why I stopped talking to you?"

"No. I tried very hard to figure it out but failed.", he said, a tinge of sadness evident in his words.

"It's because you didn't tell me about your break-up."

"What? Is that even a reason?", he asked in shock.

"Let me finish first. It's because I was clueless about what had happened between you two when she blamed me for everything. I was not affected by her words, but at that point, I felt like you didn't consider me even as your friend. It's my bad that I assumed that you told everyone but me. I'm sorry for that.", I said looking down at my feet.
