The morning after the party, Sarah woke up feeling a mixture of excitement and confusion. Her thoughts were filled with memories of Liam's kiss and their deep conversations. She was eager to share her experiences with Claire and find out how her friend had enjoyed the night.

Sarah arrived at Claire's house, her excitement barely contained. Claire answered the door, looking tired but trying to mask her inner turmoil.

"Hey, Claire! How's it going?" Sarah asked, her smile wide. "Last night was incredible. Liam is such a great guy, isn't he?"

Claire forced a smile, nodding. "Yeah, it was a lot of fun. I'm glad you had a good time."

Sarah, not noticing Claire's unease, continued. "I can't believe how much we connected. I'm so excited to see where this goes."

Claire took a deep breath, knowing she couldn't avoid the conversation any longer. She had been wrestling with her conscience since last night, and it was time to be honest with Sarah.

"Sarah," Claire began, her voice steady but filled with emotion, "there's something I need to tell you about Liam."

Sarah's expression shifted from excitement to concern. "What's wrong?"

Claire hesitated, trying to find the right words. "Last night, Liam and I... we talked a lot. And something happened."

Sarah's heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean? Did something happen between you and Liam?"

Claire took another deep breath. "Yes. After you and Liam went upstairs, he came to find me. We talked, and he... he confessed that he has stronger feelings for me than for you. He kissed me, Sarah."

Sarah's eyes widened in shock and hurt. "What? Claire, are you serious?"

Claire nodded, tears welling up in her eyes. "I'm so sorry. I didn't want to hurt you, and I didn't know how to tell you. I've been struggling with my own feelings and trying to be honest, but I didn't want to betray you."

Sarah felt a mix of emotions-anger, betrayal, and sadness. She took a step back, trying to process the shock of Claire's revelation. "I can't believe this. Liam... he kissed you and then didn't tell me?"

Claire's voice trembled. "He asked me not to tell you. I didn't want to keep this from you, but I didn't know how to handle it."

Sarah fought back tears, feeling the sting of betrayal from both her friend and Liam. "I thought we had something real, Claire. And now it feels like everything is falling apart."

Claire reached out, trying to comfort her friend. "Sarah, I'm truly sorry. I never meant for any of this to happen. I value our friendship so much, and I'm heartbroken over this situation."

Sarah took a deep breath, her emotions raw. "I need some time to process this. I didn't expect this from you, or from Liam. I don't know what to say right now."

Claire nodded, understanding Sarah's need for space. "Take all the time you need. I'm here if you need to talk."

Sarah turned and walked away, her heart heavy with the weight of the betrayal. As she left Claire's house, she realized that the relationships she had thought were solid were now shaken and uncertain. The path forward was unclear, and she was left to navigate the painful aftermath of the night's revelations.

After Sarah left, Claire was left alone with her thoughts. The weight of her confession to Sarah felt unbearable, and she knew she needed to confront Liam about the situation. She pulled out her phone and sent him a message.

Claire: "Liam, we need to talk. I told Sarah everything."

Liam replied quickly, his message tinged with concern.
