"So, do you mind telling me why your weapons are a knife and a fork?" ChibiSlacker asked, curiosity gleaming in his eyes.
Fenix huffed, glancing at him. "You're asking me that now? We're about to go into battle."
"Right...," ChibiSlacker said, refocusing on the task ahead. "Tell me afterward."
As Fenix and ChibiSlacker walked cautiously into the dark cave, their eyes scanning for any signs of the Lapis gems or the spider that guarded them.
The deeper they went, the quieter it became, sending shivers down their spines. They could only hear the soft crunch of their footsteps on the rocky ground.
Thankfully, there was some light from bioluminescent mushrooms that grew along the walls and ceiling, illuminating their path. Fenix couldn't help but admire these unique plants and made a mental note to collect some on their way back.
After walking a few more steps, they started to hear strange noises coming from ahead. As they drew closer, Fenix felt a sense of relief wash over him while ChibiSlacker's face fell in disappointment.
Because before them was a cavern, its walls covered in twisting vines of sparkling Lapis gems that glimmered and reflected the light from the mushrooms. In the center of the cavern stood a massive spider web, intricately woven with strands of shimmering silk that seemed to glow in the darkness.
Resting at the heart of the web was a behemoth spider, its body adorned with blue and white gems that glinted like stars against its dark exoskeleton. Fenix couldn't help but stare in awe at the creature, which was as large as a cow and perhaps even more terrifying.
ChibiSlacker and Fenix crouched behind a large boulder, observing the giant spider ahead.
"Hey, I thought you said it was going to be a giant spider?" ChibiSlacker whispered in a disappointed tone.
Fenix glanced at him in disbelief. "Is your definition of giant different from mine? What do you consider a giant?"
"I don't know, maybe the size of a bus or something," ChibiSlacker said, shrugging sheepishly.
"Let's just kill this 'small-sized' one first," Fenix said, shaking his head. "Since you have more HP than me, you'll gain its aggro. Don't tank it, just run around and hit it when you can. I'll attack from the back."
After fine-tuning their plan, they were ready for action. ChibiSlacker grabbed a nearby rock and threw it at the spider, grabbing its attention. With great speed the arachnid charged at him, its deadly poison-filled fangs at the ready.
However, the monster was no match for ChibiSlacker's beast-like speed. The boy was able to evade all of the creature's attacks. Fenix could tell that it wasn't luck but pure skill.
He watched as the boy stayed just out of reach of the spider, only closing in for a counterattack when necessary. There were a few times where he was just an inch away from the fangs but he would always dodge just at the right time.
Fenix couldn't believe how good the boy was at playing this game. After all, the boy shouldn't have been playing for long. He couldn't help but give ChibiSlacker a thumbs up in his mind.
Knowing that there was no time to waste, Fenix sneaked up behind the spider and began attacking with his giant fork and knife. He wasn't an expert in combat but did his best to slice away at the spider, treating it like a roast chicken. Between his and ChibiSlacker's attacks, the spider's HP dwindled rapidly.
As their relentless onslaught continued, the spider's HP dropped to 10%. Suddenly, without warning, it went into a frenzied berserk mode. Its eight beady eyes turned a menacing shade of red, its aura pulsated with fury, and it emitted a high-pitched screeching sound that rattled Fenix to his core.
He saw ChibiSlacker falter under the sudden assault, thrown off balance by the terrifying noise. With each vengeful strike, the spider's attacks grew faster and more powerful, swiftly catching up to ChibiSlacker's movements and inflicting heavy damage on his HP. Fenix knew he had to act fast or the boy would die.
Fenix's mind raced as he assessed the situation. The giant spider was closing in on ChibiSlacker, its eight hairy legs scuttling towards him with terrifying speed. Without hesitation, Fenix bellowed at the wolf boy to fall back, drawing the spider's aggro onto himself. As ChibiSlacker swiftly retreated, the spider turned its beady eyes towards Fenix, its new target.
While he kept the spider's attention on himself he noticed ChibiSlacker pull out an HP potion, and chugged it down, before sprinting back to rejoin the fight. The spider, now enraged, lunged at Fenix with a deafening shriek. But he wasn't about to back down.
Gathering his courage, he waited until the monstrous creature was within reach before leaping onto its back. He then quickly plunged his fork into its protruding eyes, sapping away the last of its health points.
With a final, guttural screech, the spider burst into a million particles, leaving behind a pile of items. Grinning from ear to ear, the two boys shared gleeful looks, their eyes shining with triumph. ChibiSlacker started jumping up and down in excitement, unable to contain his joy.

"Can you believe we did it?" ChibiSlacker exclaimed, excitement evident in his voice. "I wish I had recorded it so I could show my brother. It was so badass."
"Says the boy who almost died at the end," Fenix joked in response.
ChibiSlacker stuck out his tongue playfully. "Whatever. So, what did the giant bug drop anyway?"
They both quickly scanned the items on the ground and saw a sword with a poisonous effect, some chest armor, and some miscellaneous items like coins, spider meat, and potions.
"I call dibs on the sword!" ChibiSlacker declared. "To be fair, you can have the armor."
Fenix simply nodded, as that's what he wanted in the first place. "Okay, sure. We can split the other stuff evenly."
They divided up the coins, each receiving 500 bronze pieces. ChibiSlacker took the potions while Fenix took the spider meat.
After that, Fenix began collecting all the needed Lapis gems without any issues. Once they were finished, they began to make their way out of the cave. Along the way, he gathered glowing mushrooms while chatting with ChibiSlacker.
"I think I'll reach level ten after turning in this quest," ChibiSlacker said sadly. "It was fun hanging out with you. Can you tell me which region you're going to choose?"
"You're not going to the region your cousin chose?" Fenix asked curiously.
Shrugging, ChibiSlacker replied, "I think I would have more fun hanging out with you."
"Well, I'm thinking of either Utak or Ziam since they are close to the ocean," Fenix replied.
"Really? My cousin went to Ziam. Please choose that one," ChibiSlacker eagerly requested.
After remembering some details about Ziam, Fenix agreed with ChibiSlacker that he would go there once he reached level ten. The two of them continued talking about random things as they made their way back to town.
