Leaving the general store, Fenix walked through the bustling streets, dodging NPCs and players alike before veering off the main road and entering a dense forest. He was headed to a lake that was concealed deep in the mountains of Beginner Town.
This lake was unknown to most and was only discovered by a few curious players in the future who started exploring the town and its surrounding area.
Many might wonder what was so special about this lake, considering it lacked anything extraordinary. There were no rare plants to collect, and the fish were of normal quality. Which meant it could easily be found elsewhere. All in all, the lake was completely unremarkable, but the plants and fish weren't what drew Fenix there.
He was going there for one reason: to learn the fishing skill. Unlike other skills with multiple levels, fishing only had five. Each level required visiting a different master fisherman in various regions.
However, what most players didn't realize was that once they left their starter town and chose their desired region, there were only four master fishermen available. To obtain all five levels of the skill, a player must first learn it in the beginner town - which was what Fenix planned to do.
He knew the value of the fishing skill; not only could he catch fish for cooking, but also plants for potions and rare items like jewelry, which could be sold to NPCs or used to trigger high-grade quests.
While reaching level 4 would suffice for most players, Fenix was determined to achieve level 5 in order to unlock a special skill that he can only receive after he has fully mastered fishing.
This skill is called Underwater Fishing. It allows a player to breathe underwater for an extended period. While it might not sound thrilling, it truly is. The underwater world is the most unexplored part of the game, filled with treasures, hidden caves, and many other secrets. Although players have attempted to explore submerged areas using the swimming skill, it only allows for short periods of underwater breathing, longer with higher stamina, and only permits diving to certain depths.
With Underwater Fishing, Fenix could explore the deepest depths and even craft equipment to let others join him. However, he would likely keep this ability a secret, sharing it only with those he truly trusted. If word got out, guilds might harass him with recruitment offers, eager to exploit his skill.
Fenix walked through the dense forest, his boots crunching over fallen leaves and twigs. After what seemed like an hour, he finally emerged from the thick trees into a small clearing. The air was cool and crisp, and in the center of the clearing sat a sparkling blue lake.
Fenix's eyes were drawn to an old man sitting on a sturdy rock at the water's edge, quietly fishing. He was dressed simply in baggy pants, a faded shirt, and a straw hat that protected his head from the sun's rays
Despite his unassuming appearance, there was something about the man that made Felix feel like he was in the presence of a fishing legend.
"Excuse me, sir?" Fenix called out, approaching the man.
The old man held up a finger to his lips, indicating Fenix to remain quiet. They both waited in silence as the man patiently tended to his fishing line. Suddenly, it jerked violently, and the old man sprang into action, struggling to reel in his catch. But it was clear that he needed help.
"Hey, boy!" he bellowed, glaring at Fenix with piercing blue eyes. "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and give me a hand!"

Title: The Fisherman's Recognition
Skill: Fishing Skill
Fenix sprinted over to the old man, almost slipping on the damp rocks as he reached for the fishing rod. He grasped it firmly and yanked, his muscles straining against the weight of the thrashing fish just below the water's surface.
The battle was intense, with water splashing violently around them. As more water hit his face, Fenix continued to pull with all his strength while struggling to stay steady on the slippery shoreline.
The fish darted in and out of view, its silver scales glinting in the bright sun. Fenix struggled to pull it out, but his stamina was quickly running low from the effort it took. However, he was determined to get the fishing skill.
Minutes passed, yet it felt like hours as they struggled with the fish. With one last hard tug, they were finally able to lift the fish out of the water.
They stared at the fish as it flopped on the ground, before stopping completely. The old man's eyes filled with tears as he gazed at the magnificent creature he had been chasing for years.
"Young man, I can't thank you enough. I've been trying to catch that fish for years. It was my white whale. And because of you, I have finally caught her. I am truly grateful," he said with a small grin.

Fishing: A necessary skill for catching fish in the water. A player can easily start fishing with a fishing rod and bait, but to become even better at fishing, you need more than just that. You must know how to properly attach the bait, have the judgment to choose a good fishing spot, and have the patience to wait until a fish is caught once all the preparations are complete. Once a fish is caught, you must control the fishing line and quickly reel it in, as the fish will challenge you with its strength. This is why many people refer to experienced fishermen as masters of life. To level up this skill, seek out these masters of life to help you.
The old man carefully packed up the giant fish, his weathered hands moving with practiced efficiency. Once done, he made his way over to Fenix, a slight limp in his step betraying years spent at the water's edge.
With a warm smile, he extended a green fishing rod towards Fenix. "Here," he said, his voice gravelly but kind. "Take this Spare Fishing Rod. It's served me well over the years."
