Cherry awakes with a startle, finding it difficult to breathe. She takes in a few deep breaths before her heart begins to slow. Once it does, she lets out a tired sigh, exhaustion hitting her. She stares up at the roof of the tent, listening to the sound of nature outside. It does little to calm her nerves, the dream still embedded into her memory. Some of it is blurry, but him asking for a kiss she remembers.
They didn't kiss, right?
She doesn't remember.
She would have remembered...
right?
A tired groan leaves her lips as she sits up. She rubs her eyes roughly, hoping the image will leave her mind quickly. But then she spots Sean's sleeping form, and the thoughts come almost as quickly as the blush does. Her eyes give him a once-over before she looks away forcefully, feeling guilty for looking at him that way.
Her brain has felt like mush since that vendor back at Beaver Creek thought they were dating. They don't look like they're dating. They look like friends. Just friends...
right?
Another groan leaves her as she lays back down. She covers her face with her hands, wanting her heart to stop beating so face. She can feel a blush slowly crawl up her neck and cover her face. She feels beet red. But then the blood drains from her as she hears Sean move beside her. He rolls over, his arm falling across her stomach. A heavy breath escapes his lips.
"What's got you so worked up, mi cariño?" She takes in a deep breath before letting out a sigh. She drops her hands to her sides before turning her head to look at him. He has a stupid smile on his face, and there's still sleep in his eyes.
"Just some weird dreams," she says simply, eyes glancing anywhere except his eyes.
"Any about me?" Her body tenses for a moment before she scrunches her face in disgust. She sits up, Sean doing the same.
"Again, if I did, I'd be dead." She grabs her jeans and put them on, trying to force the blush from her face while doing so.
"Damn, your powers are hot but you are cold." His smile turns into a grin at his own joke. He grabs his jeans, doing the same as her. She glances at him before rolling her eyes.
"Whatever," she mumbles, buttoning her jeans. She crawls out the tent quickly, needing fresh air. She's given a moment to herself, letting out a deep breath before exhaling, slowing her loud heartbeat. Before she's able to put on her shoes, Hannah, a girl from Cassidy and Finn's group of drifters, walks by completely topless.
"Hey, bedhead. Had a good sleep?" She hears ruffling as Sean exits the tent.
"Yeah. I did, thanks," Cherry says, trying her hardest not to look at lower than Hannah's neck. There's a beat of awkward silence before Hannah ends it.
"Okay. I better hit the shower before they use all the water." She gives a nod before walking away. Another beat of silence happens.
"Was she...?" Sean's question lingers off.
"Yep." There's a beat of silence before Sean speaks.
"Haven't you seens girls boobs before when you change out for soccer? Why is it weird for you?" Her brows furrow before she looks over at him.
"Did you see your teammates' dicks when you changed for track?" A few seconds pass before he looks away with a look of discomfort and shame. "Did you, Sean-y boy?"
"No. It was a dumb question. I get it."
"You're finally getting some brains. Good job, mi corazón." She watches as his face reddens the smallest bit, making a grin form on her lips. "I'll get you a cup of coffee, cool?" She elbows him gently.
