31. Family Time

In a warm and lively room of Xi'an Province inn, Xiao Xingchen is expecting his second child.

Xiao Xingchen's husband, Xue Yang, is doing everything he can to take care of his omega during his pregnancy.

Their five-year-old son, Xue Kai, is eagerly waiting for his new sibling and he is always asking questions about when the baby will arrive.

Meanwhile, their friends Baoshen Sanren and Xiao Xin are helping out, and Xue Yang is trying to balance husband's duties with managing the instability in the Heavenly Realm.

Xue Kai is kneeling beside Xiao Xingchen, who is resting on the couch with a large pillow propped behind him.

Xue Kai is gently placing his hands on Xiao Xingchen’s belly and innocently asks with full of curiosity, "Mommy, how much longer until my baby brother or sister comes out?"

Xiao Xingchen is smiling warmly and tells him, "A-Kai, It’ll be a little while longer, sweetie. The baby needs more time to grow."

Xue Kai is looking worried and asks with so much concern, "Mommy, but I’ve been talking to the baby every day. I even recite baby poems to them. What if they don’t know who I am?"

Xiao Xingchen is laughing and replies with soft tone, "Oh A-Kai, I’m sure the baby knows all about you already. They hear you all the time."

Xue Kai asks excitedly, "Do you think the baby will like my poems? I’ve been practicing really hard."

Xiao Xingchen replies with a chuckle, "A-Kai, I’m sure the baby will love them. Why don’t you tell me one?"

Xue Kai is clearing his throat and dramatically and recites very happily, "Twinkle, twinkle, little star, up above, so very far. Mommy’s tummy’s big and round, soon the baby will be found."

Xiao Xingchen is clapping and praises his own son, "That’s wonderful, A-Kai. I’m sure the baby will think it’s fantastic."

Xue Yang walks in, carrying a tray of snacks in his hands but he looks a bit stressed.
