"I think Dintle and Elihle are here..." Neli trails off. "I see you've met my annoying brother" She huffs rolling her eyes. "Uhm... Yeah" I move away from him.
"Do you guys happen to know each other?" She raises a questioning eyebrow. "No" I answer. "Yes" He says at the same time. "Huh?" She squints her eyes at us.
"We don't know each other" I clear my throat. "We met this afternoon" He adds on. "No we didn't" I gritt out. "I must have mistaken you for someone else then" He shrugs.
"Okay, please leave. You're making my friend uncomfortable now" She waves him away. He doesn't get the chance to respond when the doorbell repeatedly rings. "Leave now" She walks away.
I take it upon myself to follow after her in order to avoid whoever his name is. "You two are an hour late". "Says who?" Dintle strolls in. "Are any of your yummy brothers home?" Elihle asks.
"First of all, Ew and secondly... only the bastard is here. The rest are in Cape town, doing whatever it is that they do there". "Your brother may be cute and all but he's mean and rude and-"
"We get it" She leads us up to her bedroom. "We'll spend the evening in my room and when it's time for bed I'll show you your room" She informs us. Luckily... I don't like sharing my personal space.
If I'm going to loudly snore or toss and turn, I want to do it in peace, alone. Come to think of it... I haven't seen Mahlori ever since I've gotten here.
I try calling out his name but he doesn't answer, this child.... Mxm. I head into Neli's room, settling down on the couch. "I'll be right back, I'm going to get the face masks and a few snacks" She excuses herself.
"I swear, if she pulls out those damn lemon facemasks again, I'll scream" Elihle pouts. "I'm not going to lie. I've been obsessed with those as of lately" I add on.
"I can't relate. I don't use any of those things. I've been surviving on gentle magic for years" We both side eye Dintle. "I'm just joking hle, hawu". "That didn't sound like a joke to me"
"Mxm". "I'm back..." She shuts the door, walking in with a hug bag. She starts rummaging through it. "I was going through some of my parent's CD's and films and I found this really interesting one and I was hoping we could watch it"
She hoists up the CD. "Make yourselves comfortable" She tosses us the packet of face masks. I check the brand first befire ripping it open.

"We're going shopping tommorow, be up early... Maybe around nine?" Neli informs me as she walks me to my assigned room. "Sure" I nod as she unlocks the door. "Here's the key. I'll see you tommorow"
"Goodnight" I spot my bag placed on top of the bed. "Goodnight" She walks back to her room and I vlose the door, slumping down on the bed. It's so damn comfortable. I get up, heading to the bathroom to take a shower.
I get dressed into a pair of sweatpants and an oversized shirt. I charge my phone and head down to the kitchen. I open a few cupboards until I find a glass.
I get ice from the fridge and pour water into it. I sit on the high chair, sipping on my water as I scroll through social media using Neli's iPad.
I find myself loosing track of time, drowning away on social media so I decide to read a book instead. "I think you should head to bed now, it's getting quite late" I slightly jump, startled.
"Good thing I didn't ask for your opinion" I internally roll my eyes. "Yeah?" I nod. "Who are you? I haven't seen you around here at all, are you new?" He asks.
"I've lived in this neighborhood all my life, I just mostly keep to myself..." I truthfully answer. "Then you wouldn't mind me showing you around school then"
"I actually would mind. I don't need you showing me around, I'm fine" I don't look up at him. "Suit yourself, beautiful" I sigh. "Mhm"
"How do you know my sister? She's not one to mingle around making friends" Yoh, lomfana. "She approached me and we actually have a lot of thingd in common"
"Then I guess that you and I are going to have a lot more things in common then" He winks. "Listen here, whatever your name is-" He cuts me off. "Nkululeko". "Huh?"
"My name's Nkululeko" He rephrases. "Makh-.... Mihlali" I correct myself. "Are you sure that's your real name? You sound a bit confused" He raises his eyebrows at me. "I'm not" I chuckle.
"Well it's nice to officially meet you, Mihlali" He mutters. "Likewise" I genuinely smile back. "Do you by any chance have any lemons here?" I'm craving for a bit of lemon in my water.
"Yeah... Top drawer on the left" I get up, pulling the drawer. I grab a lemon and wash it. I slice it up and put it into my water. "Need anything else princess?"
"Not yet" I run my tongue over my teeth. "Since you were bombarding me with questions, it's my turn now" I sit down next to him. "Really?" I nod. "What grade are you in? I haven't seen you around school"
"We're in the same grade" He says in a duh tone. "Oh" I murmer. "Now that you know, you won't give me that rude attitude will you?"
"A greeting is all you're going to get" I deadpan. "We're getting somewhere, aren't we?" He jokes. "Maybe" I hop off the chair. "Not you cutting our chat short'
"You're the one that told me to go to bed... It is quite late" I might not even be able to get up tommorow. "That was before you sparked my interest". "Sparked your interest?'. "Yeah" He whispers.
I turn to walk away.
"You better turn it off, cause I'm not interested"
