It vibrates again, leading me to answer it. "Hello?" I whisper. "Come outside" He answers. "What do you mean by 'come outside' ?" I rush out.

"I'm parked across your street, come out" He repeats. "Nkululeko, No. It's late" I sigh. "What will I say to my parents?" I panick. "Nothing. You'll sneak out" He causally says.

"I'm not going to disrespect them like that" I refuse. "Should I come in and ask for their permission instead?" My eyes widen in horror. "No. No! Wait there, I'm coming" I hang up on him.

I hide my phone and slip on my slippers, heading down to the backdoor. The light are off so I know that everyone's asleep. I unlock the door, stepping outside.

It's alound 23:30 and the guards are switching shifts, there are barley any guards around this area. I decide to use the emergency gate.

I look around until I spot his car parked across the street. I walk towards it getting into the passenger seat. "What do you want from me?" I snarl.

"I forgot to give this to you" He hands me my necklace. "I found it in class" He adds on. "You didn't possibly drive all the way here to give me this, you could've given it to me on Monday." I state.

"I actually did" I pause before answering. "Thank you" I murmer. I attempt to open the door but he stops me. "Wait" I turn to face him. "I did drive here in hopes of you agreeing to go on a drive with me"

"We both know that I can't" I wince. "Yes, you can" He argues. "You're being such a bad influence right now" I look away from him. "Are we going on that drive or not?" He questions.

"I can't believe that I'm letting you talk me into this" I mumble more to myself. "Is that a yes?" I nod. "Really?" He mocks. "Drive before I change my mind" I seriously say.

"I need to be back here before midnight". "Noted" He drives off. I put on the seatbelt and he chuckles. "Where are we going?" I glance up at him. "Wherever the road takes us"

"I'm being serious right now" I roll my eyes at him. "I'm also being serious" He slightly grins, showcasing his dimples "Sureee" I drag out. He passes by McDonald's drive through, getting us food.

"Does your sister kbow that you're here?" I randomly ask him. "It's none of her business" He simply answers. "So no? I don't think she'll want you to be friends with me since her and I are friends"

"She won't mind" He shifts his attention back to the road. He parks the car back across the gate. I lean back into my seat, eating my fries. "What?" I ask as he stares at me.

"It's almost midnight" He informs me. "I'll leave in a few minutes" I yawn, covering my mouth with the back of my hand. "I guess I'll see you at school then" He says. "Mhm" I briefly close my eyes, sighing. I'm so tired.

"You and Nelisiwe can't be friends anymore" My eyss snap open. "What do you mean?" I sit. "Exactly that... Once my parents find out about you, they'll persuade her to stay away from you, it's better you back down now before you get hurt"

"And what makes you think that I'll listen you you?" I arch my eyebrow. "I'm just warning you, Mihlali... I don't want you to get hurt". "I won't get hurt"

"I'm going to continue being friends with your sister wheather they like it or not... I don't care if they have beef with my father, it has absolutely nothing to do with us". "Why are you acting so stubborn?" He heaves out a breath.

"Have you met my father?" I giggle. "Not yet... But hopefully I will get that opportunity when he hands you over to me" I playfully shove his arm. "Don't get too ahead of yourself, we're not even friends"

"Yet..." He corrects me. "Mxm" I roll my eyes. "I don't need more friends, the ones I have now are enough" He laughs in response. "I'm being serious" I scoff.

He says nothing, he just stares at me. "What are you looking at?" I frown. He doesn't answer. "Nkululeko" I call out, snapping him out of his thoughts. "Yeah?" He mutters out.

"I have to go... Goodnight" I reach for the door. "Wait" He stops me, handing me the necklace once again. I quickly put it on, watching as the diamond turns green once again. "Thank you... Again" I clear my throat as we step into an uncomfortable silence.

"Do you really have to go?" He breaks the silence. "Unless you never ever want to see me again, yes" I exaggerate. "Goodnight" I open the door, not waiting for him to respond. I step out, rushing into the yard. I make my way into the house.

"What were you doing outside?" I freeze. "Huh?" I pause, rapidly blinking. "Where you come from?" Boti Lwande folds his arms over his chest. "What are YOU doing awake at this time? Where are YOU going?"

"I'm the adult here and I asked you the question first" He fires back. "I saw my necklace outside in the garden so I went to fetch it" I hold it up to him. "Why are you awake at this time of the night?" Yoh.

"I couldn't fall asleep..." I lie. "Go to bed" He orders. "Where are you going?" I ask this time. "Out... You have no right to question me, I'm an adult" He grabs his car keys from the rack and walks out the main door.

I scowl, running up to my room. I close the door and get into bed, lowly giggling. I pull out my phone and a huge grin pulls onto my face as I read the text. 'Did you get caught?'

'Almost... I used the necklace as an excuse' I bite my lower lip, trying not to laugh. 'I'm going to bed now, Goodnight' I quickly text him and just as I'm about to put my phone away, he texts back.

"Goodnight princess..."
