"Cancel all my meetings after 5, Butterfly," Veeransh said, not in an authoritative tone but with a gentle, almost teasing inflection. Samaira, sitting on the couch and checking some designs on her MacBook, turned her head towards him. Her eyebrows knitted together in confusion. Veeransh's eyes were fixed on the screen while his veiny hands were busy typing.

The veins bulging out of his hands made Samaira's knees wobbly. She gulped hard as a lump formed in her throat, and her mind started flashing back to previous moments with Veeransh-when he had hungrily kissed her as if there was no tomorrow, or when he had thrown her over his shoulder, making her gasp. Unconsciously, her cheeks began to turn pink as she bit her lips, trying to control herself.

"Yes, sir," Samaira said meekly, regaining Veeransh's attention. His hazel green eyes roamed over her flushed face, which she was trying to hide but failed miserably. Veeransh chuckled, finding her reaction endearing.

"Thinking about our kiss, baby?" Veeransh teased, his lips forming a smirk as his eyes shifted to her thighs, which were clenched together, and her soft hands, which had frozen.

Embarrassment and blushing colored Samaira's reaction. She mentally cursed, "How does he always know? Shiv Ji," she thought, crying internally at her fate of always being embarrassed.

"Your eyes," Veeransh said, looking at her affectionately. Samaira's shut eyes glanced at him, confused.

"Huh?" Samaira exclaimed, not understanding his words. She was busy looking into his husky green eyes, which seemed to be trying to read not just her but her very soul. The intensity of his green eyes sent chills down her spine. Though his eyes were devoid of any overt emotion, to her, they were the most captivating eyes, and she had fallen in love with them for the first time.

"Your eyes-I can read them," Veeransh muttered, still gazing into her eyes. Samaira felt two emotions at once: happiness that he could understand her just by reading her eyes-something no one had ever done before-and fear that if he could read everyone's eyes, she wasn't special after all.

A/N:- Veeransh be like: Ankhein teriiiii....

She forced herself to think about negative consequences before the positive ones. She had a bad habit of overthinking every situation. If someone told her she was beautiful, she would first think they either wanted something from her or were lying. She could never take a compliment positively, except for the one time Veeransh complimented her in that gown. Even then, she wasn't ready to believe she looked beautiful until Veeransh dispelled her insecurities with his loving words, though they still left a mark on her soul.
