ALLISON'S POV

It had been a week since my mother and I moved into the packhouse, and everything was looking up. Mom had socialized with many other moms in the past few days, more than she had since dad died. It was good to see her laugh again, while talking about her crazy kid. I love my mom.

I was in my room, looking out the window, watching the others fight. Some were in wolf form, while others were still fighting in human form. From my room, they all looked like ants, ready to be squashed. They would only be squashed if I decieved them. If I died.

KNOCK KNOCK

My thoughts were interupted by a knock. I felt warm hands on my waist, and I grinned.

"Hey Connor."

"Hey gorgeous."

We stood by the window, not speaking to each other. We only admired the cold outdoor scenery. I shivered, and thought of Mexico. Everytime I was cold, I would think of something warm, and BAM!! I would be toasty! Of course, I've never been to Mexico, but all the popular girls in school seemed to think so.

"Allison, you're hot."

"Uhh thanks? Spontaneous though."

"No! Not like that! I mean YES you are hot, but your skin is hot. Very hot."

I backed away. This had always been my little secret. Was I ready to tell someone?

***

"Impressive."

We were on my bed, and I had just told him about my... Talent.

"Alli, don't you see it? This could help us win the battle! You have Silama's powers!"

I looked down. God, was this seriously happening!?

" We need to start training, to see if you inherited any other of Silama's powers!"

He took my hand, and guided me down the narrow hallways. He seemed to care a lot about this. Almost more than I.

"If you're wondering why, It's because I wa-"

"God dammit Connor! Stay out of my head!"

"Sorry hun. You gotta learn how to block your thoughts though, because if the blood sucker you'll be fighting can read minds while you are fighting, then you're screwed."

"Oh. But why not just let me deal with all of this by myself?"

He stopped dead in his tracks, span around, and brought me close to him.

" One day, at the Alpha Ceremony, I want to have my mate beside me, beaming at being called The Alpha's mate. One day, if we get married, I want to watch you walk down the aisle in a beautiful white dress, and being moments away of starting our lives together. One day, if I go off to fight against other clans, I want you to be my motivation, the one who will make me fight harder, feel stronger, in hopes of seeing you as soon as possible. And if one day, we have children of our own, I want to sit beside you, as we watch our children play, and wonder if we were good parents."

"But Allison. None of that may happen if you- died. And If you did, I wouldn't be able to carry on without you, because I would know that every day- every minute wasted without you wouldn't be worth living. Allison, I love you, and I want to protect you, as much as I possibly can, to be able to spend my future with you."

A tear escaped from my eye, dribbling down my cheek.

"Connor, you are the best mate a girl could ever have. And I want to spend my life with you, raise a family, and face all the troubles with you. I didn't have a reason to defeat Coluka, but now I do. And that reason is you. When Coluka will bring me down, your voice in my mind, will bring me back up. To fight for our future. Together."
