One crisp morning, as sunlight filters softly through the curtains of their bedroom, Maya sits on the edge of the bed, her face thoughtful. Carina, freshly awake and still in her pajamas, notices Maya's pensive mood and decides to join her.

"Maya, you've been quiet this morning. What's on your mind?" Carina asks, sitting down beside her.

Maya takes a deep breath, her resolve clear. "I've been thinking a lot about everything, and I've come to a decision. I believe stepping down from my position is the right choice. I'm going to name Jack as my successor."

Carina's eyebrows raise in surprise, but she quickly nods in support. "Jack will do a great job. He's always been incredibly capable. But what about you? What will you do once you step down?"

Maya looks at Carina, a faint smile playing on her lips. "I'm still working that out. I know I need something to do, and I'm not one for being idle. But I'm not sure what's next."

Carina's eyes twinkle with mischief as she gently teases. "Well, Maya Bishop, we both know you're not exactly cut out for a life of idleness. You'll need something to keep you busy, or you'll drive us all crazy."

Maya chuckles softly, her tension easing slightly. "You're probably right. I guess I'll need to find a new purpose or project. Maybe something related to our family, or even just focusing more on the things I've always enjoyed but never had time for."

Carina leans in, resting her head on Maya's shoulder. "Whatever you decide, I'm here to support you. I know you'll find something meaningful to do. And maybe this is the chance for you to explore new passions or interests that you've put on hold."

Maya wraps an arm around Carina, feeling a wave of reassurance. "Thank you, Carina. I'm grateful for your support. It's just a big change, and I want to make sure I'm making the right decision."

Carina looks up at Maya with a loving smile. "Change is always a bit daunting, but I have faith in you. We'll navigate this new chapter together. And I'm sure whatever you choose to do, you'll excel at it just as you have with everything else."

Maya nods, feeling more at ease with her decision. "I appreciate that. I'm ready to take this step and see where it leads. It's a new beginning, and I'm looking forward to discovering what comes next."

Maya meets with Jack in the conference room later that morning. The room is bright with natural light streaming through the large windows, casting a hopeful glow on the polished table. Jack, always punctual, is already seated, flipping through some paperwork.

Maya takes a deep breath before entering, her mind made up and her resolve firm. She walks in with a purposeful stride and takes a seat across from Jack, who looks up with a welcoming smile.

"Morning, Jack," Maya begins, her voice steady but carrying a note of seriousness.

"Good morning, Maya. What's on your mind?" Jack asks, sensing the gravity of the conversation.

Maya takes a moment to gather her thoughts before speaking. "I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I've come to a decision. I've decided to step down from my position as CEO."

Jack's eyes widen slightly in surprise, but he remains composed. "That's quite a decision. Are you sure this is what you want?"

Maya nods, her expression determined. "Yes, I'm sure. With everything that's happened, especially with the revelations about the businesses and the arranged marriage, I believe it's the right time for a change. I want to focus on new beginnings, both personally and professionally."

Jack leans forward, his gaze thoughtful. "I understand. It's a big shift, but if you're ready for it, then it's the right choice. What are your plans for the transition?"
