He went home quickly to change into his hero suit then he flew back out to continue work. Davis started patrolling earlier than he usually does. But he didn't mind since he was kinda bored.

Kat is keeping busy between university and her temp job. But Davis, although he loves being a hero and he's living out a dream, he's bored out of his mind because he has no friends in this place.

Sure the two girls and their dad at the bar are becoming new friends but they don't know everything he's been through. Nobody here knows the extent of his trauma. Nobody in this new city knows anything about how deep things go with the shit Davis has been put through, the shit he's seen.

Nightquake doesn't even believe him when he filled out the application for the job he currently has in his agency.

If he's being honest, he misses home. Because this place just doesn't feel like it. And it hasn't since he's arrived here.

He misses being understood and going to cram classes with Ronin. He misses hanging out with Shino and even though Kat is here, he misses hanging out with her too. She's usually busy with either Uni or work and then she's too tired to do anything else when she's at home. Don't get him wrong, he's so proud of her but he just misses the old times.

But for some reason, with everyone he misses, his mind keeps wandering back to his dad. Not Ronin, but instead Manolo.

One thing he doesn't understand is why. He knows Manolo hated him and although he had some ups, they had a whole lot more downs. Like a way more downs than ups but he still can't shake the thought of what if he had joined Metica? And What if he followed in Manolo's footsteps. Would life have been different than how it actually happened?

His deep thought got interrupted by a call. This time it wasn't Shino, but Shizu. They'd probably be in class right about now, so this was interesting. Davis decided to pick, not realising the time.

Shizu: Heyy Davis-senpai!
Davis: hey Shizu..

Davis tried his best not to sound tired or bored. He tried to sound as normal as he could with the energy levels he had.

Davis: So what's up?
Shizu: Nothing much. Just missed hearing your voice is all. It's weird not seeing you passed out on the couch from injuries
Davis: yeah I bet that is pretty weird. I miss you a lot too. This city just isn't the same.
Shizu: Doesn't feel like home then?
Davis: Nahh

Ronin: Shizu! Phone away! No phones during detention
Avian: All phones were supposed to be confiscated? How'd you miss theirs?
Ronin: I thought I got them all. I swear Shizu gave me a phone.

Davis: Was that detention I heard. Why are you in detention? With both Avian and Ronin. What did you do?
Shizu: We may or may not have messed with some gang members acting as vigilantes.
Davis: why would you do that?
Shizu: We were bored. And I was kinda trying to take after you. I see now that I shouldn't have done that..
Davis: Please don't try and take after me again. I am not a person you should be copying.

Ronin: Shizu, hand me your phone. The actual phone this time. Who are you even talking to in detention??
Shizu: But sirr! This is important..
Avian: It can wait until your punishment is over. Hand over your phone.
Shizu: Sorryy..

Shizu was about to hand over his phone to Avian but before he could hang up Ronin took it.

Ronin: Who am I speaking to?
