How Last Chapter Ended For The Reminder: Once inside, he quietly made his way to his room and collapsed onto the bed, the weight of the day pressing down on him as he stared blankly at the ceiling.

The morning sun filtered gently through the curtains, casting a warm glow across Davis' room. For the first time in days, he didn't wake up to the sharp buzz of an alarm or the dull ache of routine obligations. It was finally the weekend. He turned over slowly, blinking against the light, feeling the familiar heaviness still lingering in his chest-but less suffocating than the night before.

A soft ping from his desk caught his attention.

Kat's name popped up on his screen, accompanied by a cheerful: "Pick up, sleepyhead".

Groaning quietly, Davis dragged himself out of bed and tapped the screen.

The moment the call connected, a chorus of excited voices erupted from the display.

Shizu: Daaaavis-Sennnpaiii
Flex: About time
Clover: Yo, you're alive!
Shino: Happy late birthday

The screen split into four boxes. Shino grinned from ear to ear, flexing like he was on a stage. Flex gave a sharp salute, his background chaos implying he'd just rolled out of bed too. Shizu had a gentle smile, sipping something from a huge mug. Clover waved both hands enthusiastically, their camera oddly tilted like they were filming from the floor.

Davis blinked, stunned.

Kat leaned in from the side, now visible in the corner of his screen, smirking. "Surprise. You really thought I'd let you get away with not celebrating your birthday"

His throat tightened. "How did you-"

"I'm sorry that we didn't remember on the day. But hey Ronin said it right?" Kat said then added, "He's a better dad than we give him credit for."

Davis couldn't stop the small, crooked smile that tugged at his lips.

"We didn't know," Shino added, suddenly serious. "You could've said something."

Davis looked down, the weight of silence hovering for a second. "You're acting as if I remembered. I checked the date yesterday and realised I missed it."

There was a beat of quiet before Shizu leaned forward. "Well... You matters to us."

Clover nodded. "We're here. That's what friends are for."

Something in Davis cracked a little, not painfully-more like the slow, careful thaw of ice.

He nodded, blinking quickly, then said, "Thanks. Really."

Kat grinned. "Okay, now that we've all emotionally bonded, who's ready for game night and chaos?"

Everyone shouted over each other at once, and for the first time in a long while, Davis laughed.

The hours slipped by unnoticed.

Laughter echoed through Davis's room as the call stretched into the afternoon. Stories were shared-some ridiculous, some deeply personal. Shino recounted a disastrous prank that ended with a security drone crash; Flex showed off a new gadget he'd stole; Clover and Shizu got into a playful debate about whether pineapple belonged on pizza, dragging everyone else into the chaos.

Davis sat cross-legged on his bed, a relaxed smile playing on his lips. For the first time in what felt like forever, the weight pressing on his chest had lifted. He wasn't alone. Not anymore.

Davis leaned back with a contented sigh, letting the silence settle in again, but this time it felt peaceful rather than empty.

A quiet knock sounded, followed by the door easing open.
