That shield has had blood stains on it before, Riss was willing to admit that. But it was nothing like the blood that dripped from it now. She did her best to push aside her personal feelings, but as she looked at Walker now, all she felt was rage.
"Walker..." Sam tried.
"You guys should see a medic, you don't look so good." John told them.
"Stop, Walker." Sam ordered.
"What?" He asked. "You saw what happened. You know what I had to do. I killed him because I had to! He killed Lemar!"
"He didn't kill Lemar, John." Bucky said. "Don't go down that road. Believe me, it doesn't end well."
"I'm not like you." John replied.
"Listen, it was the heat of the battle, okay?" Sam asked. "If you explain what happened, they may consider your record. We don't want anyone else to get hurt."
"John..." Bucky tried.
"You gotta give me the shield, man." Sam said.
John looked at the three of them. "Oh, so that's what this is. You almost got me."
"You made a mistake." Sam said.
"A very public mistake." Riss added.
"You don't wanna do this." John replied.
"Yeah, we do." Bucky disagreed.
The three of them charged him. John managed to kick Sam back pretty hard. Bucky got a good grip on the shield as Riss held his attention. John pushed her back, turning on Bucky. As he held the shield up, aiming for Bucky's face, Sam kicked it away. Sam wasn't up for very long when John hit him back again. Riss pinned him, getting a grip on the shield. He used it against her, hitting her with the shield. Bucky stood then, pinning John like Riss had. John managed to get free just as Bucky went to hit him. John kicked Sam down again, throwing the shield at Bucky. He went for it immediately.
"Why are you making me do this?" He shouted at Bucky. Riss went for him, but she didn't make it in time. John threw Bucky back. Bucky landed hard and Riss could see the electricity coursing through his arm. Riss intervened as John went for Sam's head with the shield.
Riss pushed John off of Sam, punching his jaw. She went for one of his knees, kicking it as he hit her away with the shield once again. "Damn it." She muttered.
"This isn't you, John." Sam tried.
"We could've been a team." John replied.
Sam grabbled onto the shield, dragging Walker around as he flew around the room. Walker was able to get himself stable, pulling against it. He managed to pull Sam back. The shield went flying with the force, Sam, and John going for it. Sam would've gotten their first, but John tackled him.
John was on top of Sam, his hands around his throat. "I am Captain America."
Riss couldn't find it in her to get up. She rolled over slightly, seeing the shield. She sighed as she heard Steve's voice in her head.
Rogers always get up.
"I could do this all day." She told herself. She stood then, headed straight for the shield. John had ripped the wings off of Sam, grabbing it before she could get to it. He lifted it up over Sam. Riss tackled him off of Sam, the two rolling. Bucky stood then, getting to her before he could hit her with it again. They went back and forth, hitting each other. "How we doing, Sam?"
