Two days have passed since our last court visit. The three of us are coping better yet the anxiety of what the decision will be has enveloped us all.

Placing the coffee mug infront of Verma Uncle, I waited for him to start speaking. Thanking me he picked it up yet did not initiate conversation.

"Aapko kuch baat karni thi Uncle?" I asked him.

He simply nodded but still did not say anything. We had known Verma Uncle ever since I was a little kid, less for being the family lawyer and more for being mumma's good friend.

I could see his eyes strained at Mumma Papa's photo frames kept on the wall-shelf. He took a deep breath and looked towards me.

"Aniruddh, there is alot I had kept away from you about Vineet Mehta. Shreya ne kabhi humlog se khul kar apne bhai ki baatein nahi kari, aur unke baare hum jitna jante the, usne kabhi nahi chaaha ki tum bacchon tak voh baatein aaye." he spoke.

I knew that. Months before the accident, when Vineet Mehta first appeared in our lives, for a long time, we did not even know of his frequent visits to our house.

One day when I had come home to surprise them from college did i first see him, sitting in the hall alongside my worried looking parents. However Mumma quickly changed the subject as I had approached.

"But now that I know there is an edge of complexity involved in the case, I don't think we can keep the information hidden."

"Aap khul kar boliye uncle."

"For starters, Vineet Mehta is an abusive, alcoholic drunk, who has grown up in the lap of luxuries without regards to ethics and humanity. He absolutely hated your father. Unki shaadi mein bhi he created alot of chaos but these things are of little concern to us. Aapke nanaji bahot bade industrialist the, apni Will mein unhone apni wealth ka distribution kiya tha  between shreya and vineet. But unki death ke baad, Vineet challenged the will. He did not see fit why her shares were more than his and hence began his descent into madness."

I wanted the information to sink in. But hearing more and more about this man initiated a fear in me I didn't think would come out of this situation.

"Initially he tried to fight the matter in court, but when his words did not win, he changed his stance altogether and tried to reach your parents directly. Aur mere dono gadhe dost, mere mana karne ke baavjood bhi iski jhoothi baaton mein aa gaye and gave their shares." His eyes had been fixed on the photo frames all the while but now they misted too.

"Uncle agar mumma papa ne unhone apne shares de diye the toh voh ab kya chahte hain?"

"Sab kuch nahi diya tha. Aur naahi vineet ne sab kuch maanga tha. One of the biggest portion of your nanaji's will was his shares at Sukriti (nee-kangroo/fortis ki sasti copy) hospital. And he had named it in Shreya's share. Vineet had made all the fight around it. Finally ek din Shreya, frustrated by his tactics, gave him the documents, relinquishing her shares."
