Today is a very important day. I am going for an Interview.
But before I get into it all, I think I should give a brief of the past couple of days. From the very day we entered the house, I had understood that due to not being taken care of in the past few months, the house needed some REAL cleaning and work.
Papa always took it upon himself to get the house clean every six months but this time...papa nahi hain yaha.
The three of us had taken to different parts of house and had started with the cleaning. 48 hours later, well, the house still needed ALOT of cleaning but it was in livable condition.
Aashu and Adi were tired to their bones and so yesterday they had taken to sleeping in. Though, Adi had insisted on cooking the three meals. I, on the other hand, had gone to meet Papa and Maa's CA as our family lawyer had instructed before we left Indore.
Upon reaching there, he made me aware of all our inheritances and money our parents had left to us.
And honestly, I was relieved.
The past month, of all the problems and hassles running in my brain, finance was always at the top. After Maa Papa...passed, the family court was very resistant at giving Aashu's guardianship to me since I myself was yet to graduate. Adi was already 18 so that wasn't an issue. And altough as an intern I was being paid a stipend and we also had permanent living arrangements in Delhi, yet the judge was hesitant.
But I too had been adament. The children will go nowhere.
And so they had given me a months time to take care of the children, if they see me fit I would be given guardianship else they would look for families to adopt.
And so MONEY. I needed it at any cost. I had searched for some of Delhi's top Private hospitals and had applied for position of junior assistant.
And that brings us back to today.
Today I were to give my first interview at Kangroo Hospital.
Taking a final look at myself in the mirror, White shirt, pants, Papa's tie and his watch, I took a deep breath. Sab accha hoga, khud par vishwas rakkho.
"Bhaiya, naashta kar lijiye aakar" Adu walked into the room, with his apron hung around his neck. I nodded and left with him. After long hours of arguments with Aditansh, he had finally won on the fact that it would be him who would take the responsibility of handling the kitchen.
Now, mind you, I resisted not because I didnot see him worthy, rather I knew that it would take a big chunk from his study time which at this age he should prioritise. However he was not ready to relent and I gave in finally.
In the dining hall, the breakast was spread out,
"Aashu ko bhi bula lo adu" I told him while placing my coat on the back of the chair.
"Bhaiyaa I am busy right now! Aap log kha lo" Aashu's voice came from outside the main door. Adi shook his head with a smile whilst I frowned. yeh bahar kya kar raha hai.
I went out and found him sitting on the floor with a gloss brush in his hand and shoe polish kept in front of him. He was meticulously polishing a shoe he held in his hand with deep concentration. And wait. That's my shoe!
"Aashu! kya gandagi kar raha hai beta! dekho shirt bhi ganda ho raha hai"
He looked up and gave a glare and went back, "huh! bhalai ka zamaana hi nahi raha. ek toh itne acche se joote polish kar raha keh rhe gandagi kar raha hu"
I smiled, "accha ho gaye polish haath dhoo aur aao breakfast karein I don't want to get late."
"Aap chaliye me aa raha bas"
