Several Days Later
The sun gently rose from the horizon as the emergence of light revealed the survivors of Final Selection. Tanjiro climbed up the stairs of the mountain before his eyes rested on the entrance of the shrine as he saw only three other candidates made it.
"Only the four of us survived? That boy that I saved from the Hand Demon didn't make it as well... its all my fau-" Tanjiro thought before Tyler interrupted.
"Fuck that guy, his fault he ran away and got himself killed. If it's anyone's fault then it's his own, not yours Tanjiro." Tyler said seriously.
"Welcome back." Kanata and Kiriya said at the same time with hardly any tone of excitement or relief.
"Congratulations." Kanata said.
"We're glad to see that you're safe." Kiriya said.
"So? What am I supposed to do now? Where's my sword?" Genya asked impatiently.
"First, we shall issue you all uniforms," Kanata said ignoring Genya, "We will take your measurements, after which your rank will be engraved."
"There are ten ranks in all." Kiriya stated before both took turns and stated the ranks starting with Kanata.
"Kinoe."
"Kinoto."
"Hinoe."
"Hinoto."
"Tsuchinoe."
"Tsuchinoto."
"Kanoe."
"Kanoto."
"Mizunoe."
"Mizunoto."
"Currently, you are at the lowest rank, Mizunoto." Kanata informed them.
"That's a bummer, we should be higher than that." Tyler muttered.
"And our swords?" Genya insistently kept asking.
"Today, we will let you choose the ore for your swords, but the swords will take ten to fifteen days to complete." Kanata replied.
"Are you kidding me?" Genya said in disbelief.
"But first..." Kanata said before clapping twice as immediately four crows began flying the new demon slayers as Tanjiro gasps as one lands on his shoulder.
"We will now assign each of you your own Kasugai Crow." Kiriya said.
"Kasugai Crow?" Tanjiro stated curiously as he looked at the bird with curiosity.
"These Kasugai Crows can be used primarily for communication." Kanata informed them.
"Don't give me that crap!" Genya shouted before aggressively shaking the crow off his shoulder as he matched towards Kiriya and Kanata.
"Who the hell cares about some stupid crow?!" Genya yelled before grabbing Kanata by her hair which made Tanjiro gasp.
"I want a sword, you hear? Give me one right now. The Demon Slayer's sword... The Color Changing Sword!" Genya demanded as he shook the girl around as Tanjiro's nose picked up the scent of her blood.
Immediately, Tanjiro rushed forward and grabbed Genya's arm as the scarred boy looked at him.
"Huh?"
"Release her now or I'm breaking your arm." Tanjiro said darkly.
"I'd like to see yo-"
SNAP!
"Ahhh!" Genya yelled in pain as his arm flopped limply.
