Upon the doctor's orders, (F/N) was required to stay at home and rest. He was not cleared to go back to work as a police officer, so he was left with a day off to ensure his neck recovers. Now being stuck in a home all by himself would be something nice. There's no work to be done and all the time in the world to watch TV, enjoy a movie, and read a good book.

However, for (F/N), there wasn't anything for him to do. The only TV he had was one in his bedroom and that one was just for cable, he didn't have a living room set up, no kitchen to sit in and sip some coffee, and he certainly didn't have any books for him to read; no comics or novels. The only thing he could watch was the news, and the only thing he could read was the newspaper. There was only so much for him to do, on top of making sure he didn't do anything that strained his neck.

He laid there on his bed, with a remote in his hand. The mail hadn't run and it wasn't time for the news to come on. He laid there on his back, mindlessly flipping through the channels in search of anything that caught his eye. He hoped for a good movie, or a good crime documentary. Anything that could teach him, but there was nothing.

Slowly, the desire to do something started to make (F/N)'s body itch. He shouldn't be inside, he should be outside, he should be out there doing something. His contemplation continued, eventually just landing on a random channel and laying back on his bed. He started to think about what he can do for his house right now. He could get some light groceries, nothing as heavy as a gallon of milk and certainly not enough to weigh him down. Some food would also be nice, even if it was just a light snack.

As he continued pondering his next choice, he heard his doorbell go off. Someone was visiting him! But who? He cocked an eyebrow as to who it was that would visit him. Again, he's never met someone close enought o be friends, other than Jasmine and Nancy, so who would be visiting him?

Carefully getting up from his bed and walking down the stairs, he answered teh ringing doorbell to greet his visitor. Maybe they are a neighbor who has worked up the courage to say hello and welcom him into the neighborhood, or perhaps they are a delivery person asking for directions. He unlocked the door and opened it up, and behind the door, awaiting his presence, was Jasmine! He was taken aback by her presence, checking outside and seeing that she was driving in her cop car.

"Chief!" (F/N) said in a surprised tone, his eyes slightly widening to show his surprise. "What are you doing here?" Jasmine chuckled to herself and took off her glasses, looking at (F/N) in the eyes.

"I got word from the doctors that you were injured," she said, "I figured I would stop by when I had the chance and check up on you. How are you feeling?" (F/N) was grateful to her for wanting to check on him. He reached up with his hand and massaged his neck, feeling that the stiffness still resided in his upper body.

"Still pretty stiff," he answered.

"First day on your own and you're already injured. That's a bad omen, rookie." She had a grin on her face, obviously joking with him, to which (F/N) chuckled.

"I'm not really the superstitious type," (F/N) said, grinning back at her with some smarm.

"Right," Jasmine replied, slowly nodding her head. "Just be careful when you're in the city; you've just got a taste of the kind of crazy that happens."

"What kind of crazy specifically?"

"The kind of crazy that involves superheroes and some magic." (F/N) didn't want to believe it.

Magic? Superheroes? What is this, a comic? There's no way that stuff like magic exists, he thought to himself, slowly shaking his head in denial. He's never had any sort of run in with magic or anything. No crazy cult or deranged super villains. Hopefully he doesn't have to. Jasmine chuckled to herself as she put her sunglasses back on.
