The next morning, news of Chi Longkok's arrest went throughout the city. Nancy was reporting on it, reaching big TV news in the center, her face plastered over every television across the city and her voice ringing through the speakers and into the ears of many who watched. She explained his criminal empire, his rise to power, and then the arrest itself. How (F/N) (L/N), the golden cop of the city, swooped in and stopped Chi from assaulting Gloria.

(F/N) was able to see the news when it was released, just before he left to do his job as a cop. A cop dedicated to becoming a detective. As he watched it wasn't his good efforts that made him smile, it was Chi's arrest that put a smile on his face. With the help of Gloria he was able to help put this man behind bars, and hopefully for good. He did his best, and it got results.

Looking at Nancy's face, just a digital copy of her on the TV screen, (F/N) could feel that she was directing that smile at him. Like she was proud of the man she met. It was a good thing for the public, good for the people.

And good for Mrs. Cockleone.

But all good things come to an end, and it was especially the case for (F/N). And he knew it.

When he entered the precinct, everyone had a different look about themselves. While some would mutter venom about (F/N) between each other, talk about him behind his back, and get up to all sorts of mischief to ruin his day. They were pleased. They had a spring in their step, like they were having just the best day they possibly could. They were catting to each other and laughing, any curious glances they would make in (F/N)'s direction were that of devious and mischievous looks. They had a sneer that could unsettle any who looked back, and that was the look of almost every cop in the precinct.

They knew something he didn't, and he was about to find out what it was.

As he got to his cramped desk, alone in the corner of other desks in the building, Juggs' door opened up and she stepped out.

"Rookie!" She called out to him, though not in the strict tone she's known for. (F/N) looked up and over at her, watching as she held her finger up and drew him in with it before disappearing into her office. She had that look on her face, though you couldn't really see because of the glasses, like she was a parent having been called to the principal's office. She was disappointed, but only in the news and not the person. (F/N) felt this in his bones, he gulped and followed her inside. As he crossed the sea of desks, passing by cop after cop, he could hear their snickers and chortles, laughing at him like they normally do. Something was off about them.

Once he was inside, he closed the door behind him and looked over at Juggs, who just took a seat at her own desk and motioned for him to sit down. He followed her silent command with no objection, and sat down in one of the leather chairs in her office.

Juggs opened her mouth to speak, but no words were uttered. What she learned didn't give her enough time to actually practice her lines. She knew what she needed to say, but she wasn't sure if she had the strength to say it. She tried to restructure her words, but even then it didn't sound right to her.

And when all kinds of scripts were tossed out the window, Occam's Razor was there to help deliver the news, albeit very bluntly.

"I'm sorry, rookie, but...you're fired." Six words. In those six, short words it delivered a swift punch to the gut. It was even a gut punch to Juggs as well, having to deliver the news to one of the best cops in the town. To have to let someone like him go, who showed more courage than the other cops in the city, felt like it was a real detriment to the police force.

(F/N) let out a small sigh, and anger slowly welled up in his body. He knew why he was fired; for arresting Chi Longkok. It was the whole interjection in the mission. It wasn't his masterfully crafted plan, a plan to get Gloria to subject herself to sex and potentially have her assaulted in such a way, that got Chi arrested. It was (F/N) himself who stepped in, aided in getting the signature, and then stepped in right before things went bad; arresting him on assault. Juggs didn't have to explain the why as well, she knew he was smart enough to remember.
