(F/N) was deep in the search the next day. He took what Officer Juggs said to heart, doing his best to become a better officer and do his job diligently, and continue with his heart of gold. When he sat in his cop car, just before his patrol, he took this moment to take a deep breath and steady his mind. Officer Juggs' request played through his mind over and over, her voice ringing in his ear over and over, getting him in the mindset he needed to do his job as diligently as possible.

There was much that he needed to remember when being a cop for the people; protect and serve, do his best to defend the innocent and get the truth out. Be as unbiased as possible, stay calm and collected, even if a suspect is badmouthing him or being straight up disrespectful.

And then there was his own investigation that he was doing. The one thing he put his heart into, his big first step in the right direction into being a detective, and that was the search for Maya. He has a duty to help the innocent and a young woman is likely either going to die or be put into rather unsavory positions. It didn't seem possible, given the fact that the Cockleone family are primarily women, but without full knowledge of the branches of the family there was no way to know if there was a man in there to help continue the bloodline.

With that thought, the idea of Maya dying, he had to stay calm and remind himself. They gain nothing from killing the mayor's daughter. If they wanted to kill her, they could've done it right from the get-go. Even if they took her somewhere else they would've had to dispose of the body somewhere. Given that there was no report of a dead body gave (F/N) the hope that she wasn't dead. But at the same time a different thought lingered in the back of his head, a thought that formed after he started getting different treatment from the officers; what are the chances that some of the officers are currently corrupt and are doing everything they could to help hide the dead body. Who, in the force, knows where she is!?

(F/N) had to shake the thoughts from his head. Surely the cops he works with aren't corrupt. They may be pushing him around, but they are likely jealous that they don't get the time on the big screen, hearing praises from Nancy Boobitch of the M'N'F Channel. They might just be sour, not corrupt.

After delaying long enough, he started his cop car and set out onto the Metropolis again for a patrol. But while he was keeping the peace, he was looking around again for the van. Instead of investigating where they were coming from, he could tail them and see where they went. If anything, he might be able to find something that could lead to a search of the vehicle for any kind of evidence that could point to the whereabouts of Maya.

He pulled up to intersections and looked around at any visible cars he could; he parked in parking lots and checked license plates; and he strolled through parks to find any sign of Maya's corpse. Even when he found nothing, it didn't satiate his concern. There was nothing, while there may be no dead body there was no evidence close to her. He needed to look harder, check every rock.

In moments like this he needed to remind himself of what Officer Juggs would do. What would the Chief of Police, one who focuses on the bigger issues, do? What would she do in order to figure out the truth? But the more he thought about it, the more he started to understand that there was really nothing without reasonable suspicion. He can't just walk up to a random person and frisk them. That would get him in hot water, so he would need to find a suspicious group and ask them any questions that he could and try to bring it to the topic of the daughter, but even then it would be difficult. There was something that he needed to do to find out and help. He needed evidence, but legitimate evidence may be hard to find and there may be no way to verify any evidence given to him.

Just as it felt like he was about to hit a dead end, he quickly recalled something on the day he arrived into the city: the news report! He recalled that, while he was at home as a citizen, Nancy Boobitch was someone who reported on the kidnapping! If there was any kind of evidence, potentially verified evidence, she might have something he could go off of! And, if anything, what he learned could be enough to cast suspicion over a group of people that may, or may not, be enough to give him the jurisdiction to investigate the matter.
