Ilas finished the drink and said something to my sister that I couldn't hear before he shooed her toward me, and my sister nodded and said something to him before she turned around and walked over to me with a smug look on her face.

I frowned and narrowed my eyes at my little sister, and my little sister's smug look grew bigger. "What did he say?" I asked when she was in earshot of me, and she shrugged and didn't say a word while she made her way to me.

I scowled and narrowed my eyes further while I folded my arms across my chest and stared at her. "Yeely," I warned and set my jaw while I looked at her.

"He says that you do not need to worry about him and that he is an adult," she said before she shrugged and grimaced. "He also said that he wants to thank you for the drink but not to use one of the little ones to give it to him but asks that you do it yourself."

I rolled my eyes and scowled before I narrowed my eyes at Ilas, who only grinned, amused. "Oh did he now?" I asked with a small grumble in my voice while I looked at her, and my sister nodded in confirmation while her grin grew wider.

"Yes," she said with a small giggle in her voice while she started to nod.

I sighed and shook my head, pursing my lips in annoyance before I moved a hand through my hair and across my face. "And did you tell him that he had forced me to come to the house and instead of going to him at first?" I raised an eyebrow in question while I looked at Ilas again, and Ilas only smiled and shrugged as if he heard what I had said, and I knew that he did because of who he was.

Yeely shrugged and looked at him before she looked at me with a small smile on her face. "I don't think that he cares," she said with a small laugh in her voice.

I sighed and shook my head because I knew that he didn't; he didn't care that he sent me away from him and to have me go check on my siblings first even when he wasn't feeling "well" and had fallen.

"He also says that it's time," Yeely said, and I looked at her with a raised eyebrow in question but not saying a word. She furrowed her brows and cocked her head, pouting while she stared at me with wide eyes. "He says that it is time for us to know stuff, for the Tribe has passed. He does want you to be mindful of what Mama and friends say, but it is your decision in the end."

The hair on the back of my neck stood at attention, and a shiver went down my spine. I pressed my lips into a thin line and looked at Ilas, and Ilas didn't say a word but only nodded, silently indicating that what he suggested was true.

It was time to let them learn about the world of the unknown and its secrets that were kept until their calling...

"Do you know what he means, Marini?" Yeely asked, and I looked at her with a grave look on my face. She frowned and cocked her head to the side while she stared at me with wide, innocent eyes. "Because I don't know what he means, but I feel... I don't know..." She furrowed her brows and tucked her head closer to her chest. "I feel happy but not happy?"

I licked my lips and looked at Ilas before I looked at her again. "Excited?" I asked my voice barely above a whisper, and she nodded excitedly while she grinned.

"Ya, that," she said and nodded in confirmation. "I feel excited, but I don't know why." She shrugged and grimaced, biting back a small smile.

I sighed and moved a hand across my face, feeling exhausted but knowing that I wasn't going to be able to get much sleep, especially since I had training and a meeting with the prince that night.

"He does want me to warn you that everything should be talked about in a safe place?" She furrowed her brows and shrugged with a small grimace on her face, and I instantly looked at her again. "I do not know what he means by that, but that is what he said."

I glanced at Ilas before I looked at her, pressing my lips into a thin line, for I knew what she meant. "But I do," I said, shaking my head and bit back a tired sigh while I stared at her. "I know what he is talking about."

Yeely frowned and cocked her head while she furrowed her brows and set her jaw. "Then why did you shake your head?" she asked and folded her arms across her chest with a small pout on her face. "Does that mean you aren't going to do it?"

I chuckled bitterly and shook my head. "No," I replied with a small sigh in my voice. "I am going to do what he suggested, but I don't know how he knows about the space." I gave Ilas a quizzical look and raised an eyebrow in question, only for him to smile sadly and shook his head.

He didn't want the others to know and destroy it...

"Know about what?" Yeely asked, tearing my gaze from him. She narrowed her eyes and pressed her lips into a thin line. "What does he know?"

"A lot," I said. I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet, the urge to get inside getting stronger with each passing second, even though a part of me wanted to stay outside and make sure that Ilas stayed safe. "Was there anything else that he said that I needed to know?" I asked while I looked at her.

"He is going to be sitting here until someone else comes home," she said and shrugged while she grimaced. "I don't know who he is talking about but that is what he said."

"I am sure that he is talking about Mama," I said, biting back a small sigh while I rubbed my face and forehead while I shook my head and pursed my lips into a thin line. "Now come, let's go ahead and go inside. I have some work to do, and I will start on one of the things Ilas has suggested before I do that."

"What are you going to start on?" Yeely asked and cocked her head while she studied md with a small frown on her face and furrowed brows. "Or are you going to tell me later?"

"I will tell you later, Yeely," I said with a small hum in my voice, tucking my head closer to my chest while I stared at her. "I think it would be for the best that I say it in front of everyone else and not just tell you."

Especially since Ilas was not going to let me tell her in front of him...

Yeely frowned and nodded furrowing her brows. She didn't say a word while she looked at Ilas before she looked at me, and I couldn't help but follow her gaze and look at him, too.

Ilas smiled sadly when he saw me looking at him, and he tucked his head closer to his chest. He didn't say a word but shook his head, again silently telling me that I shouldn't go to him, even though a part of me wanted to go to him.

"Marini?" Yeely asked, her voice barely above a whisper, and I tore my gaze from him and looked at her, pursing my lips in annoyance while my heart became filled with pain and sadness. She frowned and cocked her head while she studied me. "Will he be ok?" she asked her voice barely above a whisper before she looked at him and then at me.

I bit back a small sigh and slowly nodded, pressing my lips into a thin line. "For now," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet, and my heart ached. "Come on, let's go ahead and go inside. I want to see if Griffith is done eating so that we can start doing what we need to do."

Yeely frowned and slowly nodded while she furrowed her brows. "And if not?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "What will we do then?"

"Then we wait," I replied while I shrugged and grimaced. "We will wait until he is done before we do what we need to do."

With Ilas watching our backs until our mother comes home, making sure that we stay safe...
