"Is that the dragon boy I'm seeing or do my eyes deceive me?" Was the first thing she said, her tone playful and mischievous.

As I turned around I laid my eyes upon the dragon that came to meet Sylvie back when I was living in Zestier, Seele Indrath.

"Great to see you too, Seele." I greeted the dragon with a business smile, trying to keep my annoyance at bay. That damn dress sure gave me a lot of trouble.

"Oh my, it seems you two are already acquainted with each other. That should make things easier than." Cynthia said.

"What do you mean?" I asked, my tone skeptical.

"Well you see, Seele over here is the chief of security, so you'll be working with her every now and again to help keep peace in the school."

"That's right. Looking forward to working with you, Captain Leywin." She emphasized the word captain to try and tease me.

I simply looked at her, not being able to understand how Kezess would allow such a thing. Seele, noticing my confusion, shot me a look saying we would talk later.

"Anyways." Director Goodsky said to get my attention. "Your things are already in your dorm room, so I'll leave you to unpack and get settled in. Tomorrow morning you have a meeting with the members of the DC that are already on campus, so make sure you're ready." She finished and made her way to leave the building, but not before giving me a warning. "And make sure not to do anything that would get you beaten with a cactus tonight." She shot me a wink and finally walked out with Seele following behind and waving at me.

After the two left I went to the last floor where my room was located and only found a single door in front of the stairs. I wondered if that was the directors doing, Tess or Virion as I opened the door, probably a combination of the three.

Once inside I took in my surroundings. The room was quite spacious, but that should be expected considering it occupies basically the entire floor. It reminded me of modern apartments from my old world with the way the living room, dining room and kitchen were all organized in an open space, much like a loft. On the left side was a corridor that led to a study with two desks opposite to each other, the bathroom with a his and hers sink and a tub large enough for two adults, and finally at the end of the corridor was the bedroom.

Walking into the bedroom I could see my suitcase next to what I assumed was a walk in closet. The room itself was quite cozy looking despite the size, and that vibe was only enhanced by the way natural light entered through the windows and balcony door. The bed itself was quite large, bigger than the one I had at the floating castle. The balcony had an assortment of potted plants on top of the railing, surrounding it with greens, yellows and blues from the flowers.

Having enough of looking at the apartment the director called a dorm room I started unpacking my things, mostly just clothes as I carried what I often needed on a day to day basis in my storage rune. After being done with that I finally examined my DC uniform that was in the walk in closet already. Done with my definitely thorough examination I came to only one conclusion, it was just the Lance uniform but black. That's just plagiarism, whoever chose this for my uniform is way too lazy. At least they had the decency to give me multiples of them.

Ignoring the laziness of the designer I decided to see if Sylvie wasn't busy and invited her to come and take a look at my new room. Unfortunately she already had plans with one of the girls she usually hangs out with when not in class, so I was left with nothing to do for the rest of the day, or so I thought.

As I was sitting on the couch thinking on how to improve the patrol routes Claire made when she was the captain to kill time, a pair of hands suddenly covered my eyes. I couldn't help but smile.

"Was living together your idea or gramps?" I asked playfully.

"Do you really think he would let this happen?" She answered with a giggle.

"Considering how hard he was trying to get us together, I wouldn't put it past him."

"Maybe, but it definitely wasn't him. Remember the favor I asked Varay?"

"So this is the favor? Only you would ask the most powerful mage on the continent to be your messenger for a request." I responded as I laughed a little.

Having enough of obstructing my vision, Tess moved to sit next to me after a quick hug and kiss.

"So, what are you doing?" She asked.

"Not much, just trying to get some work done ahead of time."

"Then how about we go for a walk instead of just staying inside." Tess suggested.

"Sure, why not." I said and got up from the couch.

We walked around for a while just reminiscing about our time in this school. It was nice having moments like this where I could just forget about my responsibilities, the impending future and just have a normal life. The one I could only dream of back in the orphanage.

After walking for a while we sat down under a tree to watch the sunset. We stayed in silence for a while just enjoying eachothers company.

"Remember Seele?" I broke the silence.

"That weird Asura who gave you a dress? Yeah, what about her?"

"Well, she works here now. As the chief of security." I answered, unamused.

Tess could only look at me in surprise and shock when I dropped the news on her.

"But why?" Tess asked after composing herself.

"That's what I want to know. It makes no sense, I can't see Kezess allowing something like this."

"Maybe she's here as Sylvies bodyguard and the position is just a cover." Tess stated as a possible reason after thinking about it for a bit.

"Could be, but why not just have Windsom do it from the shadows. He's probably been on watch duty for a while now, so why risk alerting Agrona that he's on the move?"

"Perhaps something changed in Alacrya and Kezess can't afford to be secretive anymore. Rahdeas and Nico did disappear out of nowhere, so it's not impossible something big happened." She reasoned.

"If that's the case then we might have a problem on our hands, and we don't even know what it is." The mood now turned gloomy, but that didn't last long as a certain dragon appeared from behind us.

"What are you two lovebirds talking about? I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" Seele asked, a bit worried, which was surprising.

"No, you're not. So what brings you here?" Tess answered the dragon.

"I need to steal your boyfriend for a while princess to discuss some work related stuff."

"Alright." Tess turned to me. "I'll be in our room then, don't keep me waiting." She said to me before giving me a kiss and leaving.

"So what do you need from me?" I asked as I got up.

"I need to inform you that we have a meeting tomorrow. Meet me at the library entrance after dinner, and wear this." Seele told me as she pulled out a package from a dimensional ring and handed it to me.

"And who might we be meeting at such a late hour?"

"Someone important. You'll learn who it is when we get to the place." She answered me with a smirk and left.

"Only twelve and already having late night encounters with the ladies. I wonder what your elf waifu will think about that." Regis chimed in from wherever he was.

"Shut up. And where have you've been? You told me you're going to be here by the end of the day."

"Too lazy to leave the bed. And your mom made some amazing stew, so I had to stay with her." Regis justified himself.

"Whatever, just be here by morning."

"Aye aye Captain."
