Arthur

"Almost four months."

Shit. That means I have a week at best to gain enough insight into Vivum before Cadell shows up. Can I do it? Can I save Sylvia this time? I kept thinking about ways of doing this for a few minutes, so focused on it that I didn't notice grandma and Regis calling for me until they both smacked me on the head.

"What gives?" I asked rubbing the spots where they hitted me as aether rushed there to alleviate the pain.

"You started overthinking things as usual, princess." Regis said with a deadpan face.

"I know what you're thinking about Art, since I would try the same if I had the chance to change my past. But you must remember this, you can't save everyone. You are not a god Arthur, there will be only so many things you can change, that you should change."

"Then what's the point of coming back to the past then?" I said with frustration laced in my voice. I knew she was right, that there were only so many people I could save. That if I made too many changes, my advantage over Agrona would be useless. That the things I change could lead to an even worse future. But right now the only thing on my mind was to find a way to save someone who did so much for me, who gave me a chance to protect what was important to me.

"You already know why Arthur, it's the whole reason you used that staff. As much as I want to see my daughter grow up, see what you will be able to accomplish, I know that leaving this cavern alive will only put you and the ones you love in danger. There's no telling what my father will do if he finds out I'm alive and that the one who saved me was a human who can use aether in a way he only dreams of doing."

"C'mon Arthur, you know she is right, I'm inside your head. Just make the most of the time you have with her." As he finished speaking Regis jumped inside my core. "I'll just stay here drinking my favorite grape juice."

"Alright, I'll keep that in mind for the future."

"Good, now let's move on to Sylvie. I'll teach you a way to merge the eggs so you can bring her back."

And with that a few days passed with Sylvia explaining to me how the Vivum art Sylvie used to give me her body worked and hinting on how I could use it on the eggs.

"I think you understand enough about the art to use it. But wait until you are in Elenoir, if we do it now Cadell will be able to feel it. I sensed him nearby a few days ago. Which means it's time to send you to your princess."

As grandma got up from her thorne, golden light started enveloping her and soon she was in her dragon form. It was as divine as I remember, pure white scales that reflected the little light inside the cave in a mesmerizing way and gold runes similar to the ones I had, but much more intricate, ran across the body of this majestic being.

But I didn't have time to admire it, as the ceiling burst open and Cadell appeared through the hole. I felt rage boiling inside of me, knowing that I could kill him right now but doing so would make Agrona more cautious and take different actions than the ones I knew. So I just waited for Sylvia to activate her Aevum art.

"Lady Sylvia! I advise you to stop your stubbornness and hand it over. You've already caused us quite enough trouble by hiding yourself. If you submit, the lord may even heal your wound." Cadell declared with an impatient voice.

The moment he closed his mouth the colors of the world inverted and everything stopped with the exception of grandma and myself.

"It's time Arthur, I'm glad my final moments in this world were with you." Her voice was kind, in an attempt to keep me from feeling even worse. And like last time she pushed her snout against my chest and left her will on my core and gave me her egg along with a feather.
