"BELLA!" Anastasia called out to the brunette girl, wrapping her in a tight embrace. It had been so long since she had seen Bella Swan, it was natural that the two missed one another, they used to be glued to the hip during the Summers of their childhood, when Anastasia would visit her grandmother, and Bella her father.
"Anastasia, wow, I- I didn't expect to see you back here!" Bella replied, as they stood outside the Swan residence, her voice had changed a lot since they were thirteen and fourteen years old. The Swan girl tucked her hair back behind her ears as they pulled apart. "Didn't you only come in the Summer?"
"Well, I wouldn't want to bother you with the full story, but I'm gonna be living with my grandma for a bit. What about you?" She answered, brushing it off as much as she could.
"Er- Yeah, well, my mom wanted to travel with her new husband, Phil, he does baseball and stuff, that kind of thing. So I guess I just moved her with Charlie for a bit."
"I take it you're going to the high school here then?" Anastasia asked Bella, wanting to know desperately if she'd be alone or not, it would be awkward either way if she was going to be honest, apart from the fact that she would most likely be a year older than the entire student population of her grade due to her missing a year.
"Yeah. I guess you're in your senior year now though?" Bella's voice was quite glum as she spoke the last sentence, a couple of the kids were alright there, but she still didn't feel as close to them as she did with Jacob and Anastasia, plus, even if Jacob did go to her school instead of the one on the reservation, they probably wouldn't see each other during classes anyway, like how it would now be with Anastasia.
"Not quite, I missed a year a few years back, so I'm kind of still stuck going to school for another two years at least. I'm a junior this year, an eighteen year old junior." She sighed the last part, recalling how awkward it was going to be.
"Don't worry about it, at least now we can have classes together, I'm dying for someone who's actually interesting to talk to." Bella reassured her. "Please pick Biology, I want to sit next to someone who's not going to glare at me all lesson and act like I smell horrid."
Anastasia's eyes widened as she laughed for a second in disbelief. "What?" She then shook her head. "Don't worry about it Bells, I'm sure I can get into Biology for you."

SNATCHING HER BAG, Anastasia quickly hurried down the staircase and flew through the front door, all whilst attempting not to fall flat on her face due to the ice that had decided to appear overnight. "Bye Grams!" She called out behind her as she double checked that her boots were laced before hastily walking towards the tree that Bella had assured her she would give her a ride from.
She ensured that she tightened her scarf while she waited for Bella, who, was unsurprisingly late. The cold bit at her pale skin like an insect, ravenous for it's next meal. "Hurry up Bella." Anastasia muttered impatiently beneath her breath.
A few minutes later, a faded red truck came barrelling down the street, Bella sat behind the wheel. It came to a screeching halt a few feet away from Anastasia. Yep, Bella was definitely exercising this this ancient truck's breaks, she thought.
As she approached the vehicle, she made a suggestion that the Swan girl agreed to instantaneously. "You know, maybe I should drive us Bells."
By the time they neared the school, rain had began to harshly fall against the metal of the truck. "You're joking!" Anastasia remarked as she realised her coat was sat on the back of the chair by her desk.
