FLASHBACK

"EDWARD. DON'T MAKE US DO THIS." Rosalie pleaded with the teenager. "You can't be serious, we can't just get up and leave, we haven't even been here that long."

Alice nodded profusely in agreement. "Carlisle, talk some sense into him, please." the blonde doctor had simply been staring at Edward with a look that he'd never seen before, he knew that if Edward left, they'd all have to, there would be too many questions if only Edward left.

"You know that we have to." was all that Edward would say to him anytime he caught the blonde man staring at him with the same disappointment upon his features.

Deep down, Edward was scared of him at the moment, he'd never witnessed Carlisle in such a state, he was petrified that he'd snap one day, he summarised and supposed that perhaps he was hoping that Edward would change his mind, and that he hadn't fully taken in the concept yet.

"You know." he murmured before moving out of the room. Carlisle's eyes following his figure as he left, unblinking and otherwise unmoving.

"I've packed everything from your rooms, we'll leave in the morning, apparently, according to Edward." Esme tried to speak light-heartedly when addressing the room, but she too did not wish to leave the small town of Forks.

Nobody responded to her soft-spoken words, not even nodding to show that they understood. Instead, they ordered themselves off to separate areas of the home, wanting their own space for the moment, the doctor deciding to take himself out for a drive.

"I'll see you all at the new house; don't wait for me to come back here." were his only words in his now raspy tone, his dark eyes heavy with an exhaustion that they hadn't seen for a long while.

CARLISLE'S PERSPECTIVE.

It was a rustic, timeless abode that stood on the outskirts of the quite minuscule town, a place of tranquillity, not only was it build out of it's locally carved stones, but of the ancestral memories that had woven themselves into it's aging material.

A dim glow of warmth sprouted only from a singular chamber, the one I had grown all to familiar with as it overlooked the burst of Mother Nature's gracious touch that spread throughout the bottom of the structure, Anastasia's room.

The constant purring of my vehicles engine was soon put to sleep as it reached a slowing pace upon the cobbled pathway, in each stone a name of an ancestor carved, young and old, deceased and the two living. It was a pure depth of darkness now without the illumination of my headlights, the only thing that lit my path was the light provided through a glass pane.

I found myself searching the glades for a pebble to alert her attention that I required her presence at the present moment we found ourselves in, it was the safest option that eliminated awaking her grandmother who's found herself in the satisfying hold of the world where humans went to at dusk.

Would she ever forgive my actions?

Would she forget me?

Would she be able to live her life in the peace of normality, finally, without my interruptions?

Surely, she would find someone else, someone that eliminated the risks that I brought with being what I am?

Would I ever see her again?

BELLA HAD QUITE A... MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE IN ITALY. She, Alice, and Edward had thankfully now all returned safely and were arrived back at the Cullens house for the first time since, they had all come back to Forks upon hearing the news about their trial with the Volturi.

As of now, they had gathered in the front room, where the incident had happened previously which drove them all away. Carlisle stood in the corner, where no light touched him, so he was difficult for Bella to make out at first, Rosalie and Emmett stood together, a wide grin on Emmett's face when he saw Bella, Jasper stood beside a funky-looking plant pot as Esme was the first to come forward and give Bella an embrace.

"I'm glad that you all made it back safely." she beamed at her. "But how did you make it out?"

"That's a story for another time." Bella said, Esme nodded understandingly as she took a step back. "You all know what I want." she addressed the vampires in the room.

"And I know how much I'm asking for." her eyes darted to each Cullen in the room, trying to ease her discomfort. "The only thing that I can think of for it to be fair is just to vote." Bella knew that she'd have votes denying her the opportunity to transform, a strong vote from a certain blonde.

"You don't know what you're talking about." Edward tried to chip in, he had returned to his usual, brooding, self-loathing attitude.

"Shut up." Bella hissed at him, much to a particular small girl's amusement. "Alice?" the Swan girl turned to the pixie-like woman knowingly, as if bracing herself for the inevitable hug she would be forced into.

And she wasted no time. "I already consider you my sister." she bounded forward and embraced her almost instantaneously. "Yes."

"Thank you."

"I vote yes." a particular Southern drawl came next from the other half of Alice Cullen. "It would be nice to not want to kill you all the time." he spoke almost comically.

Bella gulped and she nodded hastily in agreement.

"I'm sorry." Rosalie said, her voice clearly ridden with a sadness. "I'm really sorry to both of you for how I've acted. And I'm really grateful that you were brave enough to go and save my brother." she spoke with pure honesty.

"But this isn't a life I would have chosen for myself." Rosalie held herself for a moment. "And I wish that there'd been someone to vote no for me. So, no."

Emmett then grinned wildly. "I vote hell yeah. And we can pick a fight with these Volturi some other way." he spun her around in a tight hold before setting her down.

"I already consider you a part of the family." Esme kept her warm demeanour. "Yes."

An audible sigh could be heard as a particular doctor protruded from the shadows, his dark eyes moving straight to Edward. "Why are you doing this to me." the teenager spoke as if he were in agony. You know what this means."

Carlisle shook his head. "You've chosen not to live without her, which leaves me no choice. I'm doing this for you Edward. You don't need to live with the pain."

"I won't lose my son."
