ANASTASIA HAD HEALED AT A MIRACULOUS RATE. After a day or so, it was like she had never been injured at all, but the same couldn't be said for Bella, the girl definitely wouldn't be able to walk properly for a little while.
So when Anastasia opened her eyes for the first time properly without the effects of the pepper spray, she wasn't surprised to see a hospital room as her temporary residence, with Carlisle sitting in the corner, his worried eyes trained on her.
As soon as he noticed that she was awake, he sped towards her, his hand immediately cupping her face. "You promised me." was all he said.
"Carlisle, I'm sorry-" her voice was scratchy, but it was probably due to the lack of hydration, it had felt a lot worse when the pepper spray had it's toll. "Bella tricked me into going there and-"
He sighed as he ran his hand through his hair. "Tell me it from the start, from after Alice and Jasper went downstairs to check out."
"I had um- Just gotten out of the shower." she blushed. "But just before I went in, I heard Bella talking to someone on the phone, but I brushed it off. When I exited the bathroom, she told me she was due for her period that day and that she totally forgot to get pads and stuff when she left, so she asked if I'd accompany her to a store to get some, she said Alice and Jasper knew and were okay with it."
Carlisle nodded, and told her to continue. "We got into a cab, and when we arrived at the place she told him to go to, I realised I had been set up. She told me that James had told her that both of us had to come or else he'd hurt her mom."
"I tried to tell her that there was a better way, and I tried to reason with her, telling her it might be a trick, but she wouldn't listen, she ended up spraying me with pepper spray... Then I don't remember too much of this bit, but she dragged me inside and realised James had lead her on, that he didn't have her mom."
"He began to talk to her, then he came over to me... He- he called me his sister? Then he asked how I was still human." Carlisle stiffened at this. "But I then told him honestly that I'd never seen him before, that I didn't know what he was on about."
"Then he mentioned a 'beautiful blonde lover' taking me away and feeding me some immortal humanity potion. I didn't have the slightest idea what he was on about, maybe he mistook me for someone else? So I didn't answer him."
"That pissed him off." Anastasia cringed at the memory, he then started to lift me off of the ground and closed off my airways... It's a bit blurry after that, I just remember so much pain."
Carlisle sighed as he rubbed her knee from above the blanket that covered it. "I hope that you feel better now, at least?"
"Much, thank you Carlisle." she smiled at him. "How is Bella doing?"
The blonde let out a sigh as he recalled what he last remembered of her. "She should be alright to be without crutches for the prom, but naturally, only time will tell I'm afraid."
Her brows then scrunched slightly in confusion. "Carlisle, how have I been healing so quickly? I mean, first it was the whole car thing, and I was fine the morning after you came to see me, and now? The last thing I felt was extreme pain, now I'm lying in a hospital bed perfectly unscathed?"
He frowned, shaking his head. "I- I think that'll have to wait for another time, Ana, but I promise that I'll tell you someday..."
"Someday?" she repeated the word. "Carlisle..."
His eyes moved to look back up at her, he then tried to speak, but he just couldn't. So instead he just stood up. "I'm going to check on Edward and Bella, I'll let you know how she's feeling if she's awake. I'll take you back home as soon as I'm done, I promise."
"Alright." she replied glumly, clearly not satisfied with the response he had given her.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Anastasia had asked Carlisle upon their drive back to Forks from Arizona.
"What do you mean?" he asked her, quite evidently confused as he swiftly pulled off of the highway.
"What are you doing on the day of the prom? I mean, I know it wouldn't exactly be normal, y'know, me going with the doctor from the hospital, but I thought maybe we could do something for the evening?"
Carlisle grinned at the idea. "Oh yeah? What'd you have in mind?"
"I thought maybe we could just spend some time together, if that's alright, I mean, I'm interested about you, to be honest, all I really know is that you're a super old vampire that likes healing people mysteriously and can make a really freaking good chicken pasta bake on your first attempt."
He let out a laugh at that one. "Touché, it's a date then I suppose?" he added on, looking at her slyly, to which she snorted at. "What?"
"Nothing..." she giggled. "Nothing at all, Carlisle."
As he pulled the car swiftly into the driveway of her Grams' home, she noticed that the lights were still on, Anastasia clenched her jaw, wondering what her grandmother was still doing up at this time.
"Thanks for the ride home, Carlisle." she smiled gingerly at him, to which he nodded.
"Do you want me to come inside? I can climb in through your window if you don't want your grandmother to see me. It's fine if you just want to be alone, I just thought that after what's happened that you might-"
"I'd love that, thank you." Anastasia grinned as she pressed a kiss to his cheek. "You may want to drop your car back at your house though, she may get a bit suspicious otherwise."
"Of course." then Anastasia jumped out of the car and grabbed her stuff as waved at him, in case Grams was watching through the windows as he drove off.
The front door was unlocked, and Anastasia called out for her grandma. "Grams, are you there?"
"Right here, angel." her homely voice called from the lounge, where she sat by the roaring fire. Her favourite soap opera playing on the television. "Do you remember this show? I used to watch it with you when you were younger." the elderly lady smiled fondly at the memory.
"I do! Isn't that the one where that girl's parents were-"
Her grandmother's face fell. "Right, sorry, my angel. Why don't you head off to bed? I'm sure your tired from all that travelling." she suggested, to which Anastasia smiled as she trotted up the stairs, smiling brightly at Carlisle who waited in her room, currently looking at some old photos of her and Bella she had hung up.
"Hey, you." she called, causing him to turn around, his eyes full of warmth. "Enjoying having a poke around my room?" Anastasia asked as she collected a pair of pyjamas from her drawers. "I'll be back in a bit, hope you don't mind, I feel a bit dirty right now." she asked, to which he nodded.
"I'll be right here waiting."
