Chapter 3: Welcome Dinner

A few hours later

"Shall we go to a nearby restaurant for dinner? We don't have anything to eat" Laura said to Alycia after checking the refrigerator and finding only a few bottles of sparkling water, a couple of beers, and a few sodas.

Alycia nodded, "We have to go for groceries tomorrow anyway"

"Alright, let'sㅡ" Laura's speech stopped when she heard a knock at the front door.

"Are we expecting guests?" Laura asked again.

"Not that I know of" Alycia replied, shrugging her shoulders but answering the door anyway.

As she opened the door, her earlier look of astonishment was immediately replaced by a broad smile on her face as she saw who was standing in front of her with a closed dining table.

"Hi, Alycia"

"Oh my God! Leonora! Hi!" Alycia excitedly hugged Leonora, making the woman giggle.

"I'm glad to finally see you again, I missed you" Alycia said after releasing the hug.

"Well, I missed you too. That's why I brought this food, we'll eat dinner together and catch up" Leonora said.

"Oh, that's really sweet of you"

"I'm here too, in case you forgot" Oliver, who had been there with his mother, finally spoke up.

Leonora and Alycia chuckled, "Sorry Ver" Alycia said with a nod and a faint smile from Oliver.

Laura came over to them.

"Leeshy, who's there? Oh, Oliver and..."

Her eyes shifted to the woman she didn't know yet, understanding the meaning of Laura's look, Leonora spoke.

"I am Leonora, the owner of this resort and also the mother of Oliver and Oceane" Leonora said.

"Oh, hi, I'm Laura" they both shook hands.

"Well ladies, how about we go inside and get everything ready for our dinner?" Oliver said.

The three women nodded.

"I'm sorry, silly me, I didn't let you in, come on in" Alycia said.

They went inside.

"Oli, call your sister, tell her to come here for dinner" Leonora said to Oliver as she helped Alycia and Laura prepare the food on the dining table.

"In case you forgot what I told you earlier, Oce is mad at me, Mom, she won't talk to me"

Hearing Oliver's words, Alycia felt guilty again.

"I'm really sorry, this is all my fault" she said.

"Nonsense, Alycia, don't blame yourself, Oce is more stubborn now than before"

Without answering Oliver's words, Leonora took out her cell phone, then contacted Oceane, and because she was busy arranging the food on the table, she let the phone line load the speaker, after a few rings, Oceane's voice was heard.

"Yes, Your Majesty, can I help you?"

"Come to the resort, we're having dinner here"

"Nah, I'll pass, thankyou"

"Since when do I accept refusals, Oceane Summer Harvey?"

"I'm on my way, Your Majesty"

"All right, sweetheart"

Short, to the point, absolute. The call was disconnected.

"Wow, such a good kid" Laura murmured.

"Well, Mom's word is absolute" Oliver said jokingly.
