When Rio awoke after falling asleep again, he found himself in an empty room, lying on the uncomfortable bed and gazing around.
After a while, Grace entered the room with a warm smile, greeting him with a "Good morning, dear" as she walked over to him.
"Hi, mom. Thank you for saving me" the brunette thanked her, smiling at her. She was the only one who never gave up on him. When he was lying in bed, not being able to move for days, she would always come and take care of him.
Grace made him food, brought it to his bed, and made him brush his teeth and shower, making sure he was okay.
It was nearly impossible to make her mad or get rid of her. That was why Rio liked her so much, he loved her and didn't care she was a robot.
He snapped out of his overthinking, standing up. "You should rest more," Grace told him. "I'm rested enough, I'm gonna have something to drink," he said, wincing at the pain in his leg.
"Okay, but be careful," she said, cleaning the room. Rio walked out of there -only in his underwear-, walking to the living room and lighting his cigarette. He poured himself a glass of whiskey -with a cigarette in between his lips- and sat on the couch.
Rio was thinking about what he and Five were doing the day before. A lot of things happened in that one day. It was almost crazy how okay he felt about that. He hadn't experienced anything like that in years.
"Fuck this," the brunette said after a while of drinking when the glass was empty. Slowly walking to the bar, he was thinking about what was Five doing at the moment. He grabbed a whole bottle, walked into Five's room, and shut the door behind him.
Meanwhile, Rio was getting drunk in someone else's room, Five was in the same van as the day before just looking at the clinic in front of him. He suddenly realized he had forgotten to take Delores out of the bag next to him.
"Oh, shit" whispered Five, taking her out along with a bottle of some hard liquor. "Hey," he said, feeling bad about leaving her for so long. "Sorry you were there for so long, Delores" he put her right next to himself, having a one-sided conversation with her.
"No, I'm not drunk. I'm working" Five answered her, looking at the clinic. "Yes, it's about the eye thing" he frowned at her dumb question. What else could he possibly be doing there? Five kept on talking to her and watching the people around the building.
A few hours went by, Five still in the van, Rio still getting drunk. He was just in bed, lying when the bottle was once again empty. Stumbling downstairs, he lit up another cigarette. He knew his father didn't like when they smoked inside the house, but he was no longer there.
As soon as he stepped into the living room, all of his siblings looked at him with weird looks.
"Don't mind me" he took a drag out of the cigarette and walked to the bar. "We're glad you're okay," Klaus said, making Rio glance at him. He poured himself a glass of whiskey -cigarette in his mouth- and walked to sit on the couch.
He wasn't listening to them arguing until he heard one particular sentence. "We need to turn her off," Luther said, making Rio look at him. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait," Diego said quickly, pointing his knife at the taller.
"She's not just a vacuum cleaner you can throw in the closet! She feels things, I've seen it!" Diego said loudly. "Are you talking about mom?" Rio said quietly from the couch, making everyone turn to look at him. The silence was enough.
"You want to turn her off?" he asked again, standing up. "Her system is degrading, and-" Luther tried to explain. "Then fix her! You can't just turn her off" the brunette said, walking towards Diego. "Knife boy is right, she's so much more than some robot" he leaned to Diego's side, making him frown.
Everyone was quiet. "Guys, really? She made us food, cleaned up after us, gave us love, and helped us with everything. She's the reason I'm standing here today. I won't let anyone turn her off" Rio continued, proud of his speech.
"Are you drunk again?" Diego said, noticing his brother not being in the right state of his mind. "No. We just can't turn her off" Rio said, slowly walking towards Luther and putting his finger to his chest. "And you are not gonna do anything about it," he said, frowning.
Klaus chuckled. "Oh, now I know how you guys see me" he laughed, making Rio roll his eyes. "Klaus, I'm not like you" he walked to face Klaus, frowning. "Yes, you are" Klaus laughed again. "I'm leaving, don't turn her off," Rio said and left the room.
He walked to his room again, getting drunk out of his mind. It was keeping the thoughts away. The brown-haired boy was listening to some songs, just lying in bed. It felt nice, not thinking about anything but the music.
Drowning out the world with music, and solo dancing, he didn't hear Hazel and Cha-Cha shooting at his siblings. When his glass was empty, he went downstairs to refill it, missing the two assassins.
He was dancing around the house, no one noticing him. Until he got a blow to the back of his head.
