If Daniel was heartbroken. It would be an understatement. He took a sigh as he leaned on the sofa of his home. Tomorrow was the hearing of which Shaira had given all the responsibilities to him.
He needed to win the case for her best friend. A friend who was too strong. There was not a single doubt in her eyes when she spewed out all those words. It was hurt. The pure hurt. Daniel always thought that Shaira left all of them because of her selfishness. He was so angry at her that he could not make a line between right or wrong or Shaira's emotions.
"Tired, baby?"
Sabrina's fingers intertwined with Daniel as she sat next to him. Her face let Daniel take a sigh of relief.
"Yes. Tomorrow is first hearing of Shaira's case."
Daniel said as he couldn't bring himself to discuss the information that he came to know. He believed Shaira. The confidence which he has in her is very rare to find. Despite all the fight, he knew she wouldn't lie. She wouldn't lie when she wqs hysterically crying at end.
"I hate to say that but your eyes are showing something else."
Sabrina said as she leaned on his shoulder. The one person who could read Daniel out of all is his soon to be wife. Sabrina was like that. She was so good at reading emotions.
"Is it okay if I told you later. I don't have words or strength for that right now."
Sabrina nodded as she gave him a soft smile. Daniel give her a small peck. Ofcourse she was adorable and she only showed that side once in a while. Daniel wanted to savour it.
"You are such a puppy."
Sabrina laughed as Daniel nuzzle in her neck.
"Please tell me that when you are screaming my name tonight."
Sabrina breath hitched as Daniel took her in his arms making Sabrina screech making both of them laugh as they went in their bedroom.
....
"You should stop drinking. We need you alive for the hearing tomorrow, Shay."Shaira smiled at her secretary as she poured herself another cup of alcohol.
She wants to forget everything."I am feeling more alive right now."
"Stop it."
The secretary gave her Stern eyes as she took half a glass of whiskey from her.
"If the feelings were so easy to shut off."
Shaira sighed as she leaned on the glass table overlooking the buzzing streat.
"Its okay, Shay. Everything would turned out just fine. I will always be here with you."
Shaira eyes stung with the tears as she wiped it off for the hunderedth time. She was sad and she can't say it as she hid her face all the while Christina was simply patting her head.
"We need to go, love."
"Five minutes, Chris."
.......
"Are you sure you are gonna be okay? Should I drop you to the apartment, Boss?"Christina sighed as Shaira took put on her heels back again.
"I am sober, Chris. Don't worry. I can go on my own. Its getting late. You go home."
Christina could say Shaira was still tipsy but not drunk as she clearly gave her a big smile like a child which she never does sober.
"Good night."
Shaira nodded her head as the doormen opened the immense door for the apartments.
"Thank you, Mr. Doorman."
