"You don't need to worry. I got it handled."
Shaira eyes snapped towards Daniel as her eyes was stuck on the courtroom door.
He isn't here, yet.
Shaira sighed as she prepared herself for any of the question opposition will throw at her. She smiled at Daniel as she nodded her head in recognition. Her eyes went on her eldest brother who was standing right beside her. His stance predatory as his animosity was clearly visible towards opposition.
"I believe in you."
Shaira stood beside him. As she took his brother's hands. A small smile and wink was enough to make Dexton chuckle. Of course, Shaira was the epitome of confidence. Everyone could feel the energy of the powerful brother sister duo shining through the gloomy walls of courtroom.
Noone can take their eyes off them.
Their eyes sharply turned as soon as the one who got slapped by Shaira entered the room. His hair in a updo. A black coat and tie. Shaira couldn't even decipher that it was the same man. Her heart took a jolt as she knew that their enemy was not at all easy to take down.
"Case 47, The district court. Dexton Vanedestine and Miss. Shaira Vanedestine Vs Smith Jones. The charges are assault at the public conference done by Shaira Vanedestine on August 16, 2024 in LUXE headquarters. Mr. Dexton Vanedestine charges against Smith Jones Defamation."
"The proceedings may start."
The judge on the high chair said. His glass sharply placed on his nose. Everyone attention went to Daniel as he stood up from his seat. He greeted the judge as he proceeded," Your honour, my clients, Dexton Vanedestine and Shaira Vanedestine has faced countless of controversies and mental trauma since Smith Jones publicly bashed their family. He purposely provoked my client Shaira Vanedestine by saying abusive words about her brother. I want a written as well as public apology from the opposition as well as to brace the price of misconduct."
Daniel's voice sounded so professional that Shaira felt a sense of relief. The strong support Daniel had in her clearly showed in his voice.
Smith Jones's lawyer stood there in the courtroom with a look of disbelief. No wonder when he was against all the hotshots of the respective industries. He need to say everything meticulously. One wrong move and he fails.
Shaira's eyes met with Smith Jones when he came there. His lip almost healed from the punch as he acted like victim in the courtroom. Shaira could not help but to see through his facade with one cringe smile to his lawyer.
"Your honour, Miss Shaira has pretty much cracked the jaw of my client. With that also come public humiliation for my client. The reporters had rights to ask questions and Shaira could have refuse it. Morever, She was agitated over someone she had never met in 6 years."
The opposition lawyer made comment as Daniel stood up from his seat. He will his sister. No matter what a hypocrite guinea pig say.
"Shaira and Dexton Vanedestine is family. Even Shaira was busy her work over the years. She would always count in the family. Anyone could be agitated if someone said defaming words about their family members. I want to make it clear, your owner. First, Dexton Vanedestine filing this case already shows how much he cares about her sister. Second, Shaira Vanedestine has asked Smith Jones to not ask questions about her private life many times but he went forward through it. That shows it was a selfish act to deliberately make my client angry."
Judge listened to both of the lawyers as he asked opposition lawyer if he had any questions to ask.
"I would like to ask questions to Mr. Dexton Vanedestine."
