I, Eridan Ampora, am officially a murderer. Well, at least that's what I was thinking as I stared at my friend, Kanra Lithom's now barren fish bowl.
My roommate had left to visit her sister for a week, leaving me in charge of her pet fish. I had been doing good for the other 6 days, and yet, in those final hours before she got back, I find the fish floating upside down in it's bowl. Who would have guessed that forgetting to feed it only one time would cause the thing to just give up!? I had given it plenty of food the day before... wait... DID I OVER FEED IT?!
Well, it didn't matter now. The point was that the thing was now down the toilet, and I had exactly half an hour to figure out what to say to Kanra that wouldn't make me sound irresponsible and stupid. Considering that that's exactly what I was... this was gonna be hard.
I gave a deep sigh. I guess I would just have to tell her the truth and face the consequences...
Or maybe not.

Just as I threw away the empty plastic bag in my hand, I heard the door open.
"Yo, Eridan, you here?" Kanra called from the living room. I took a deep breath.
"Hey!" I quickly forced a smile. "How was the visit?"
Kana gave me a little hug. While I hugged back, I glanced over her shoulder to take a look at the new fish swimming happily in the bowl. God, please don't let her figure it out.
"Great, thanks for watching my fish!" I didn't reply to that. I kinda felt guilty for lying to her, but what she doesn't know won't hurt her...
Or me.
