Lucas knew. Lucas knew that this boy was the Prince he had been searching for. He didn't know how he knew, it was as if he recognized the Prince...or perhaps it was destiny. The image was ingrained in his mind of the boy his age. But one thing that Lucas noticed was that if this was the current Prince...why did the mural of him look so ancient? He had heard of Draconians having twice the lifespan of a human but the mural was so old that the paint was faded compared to the previous murals and pieces of the wall had crumbled off of it. Lucas took one last glance at the mural before continuing down the hall "theirs something wrong here, I can feel it." Lucas thought as he picked up the pace, creeping closer and closer to another set of large doors at the end of the hall.
The closer Lucas got to the door, the louder the sound of something clicking grew from behind the two wood doors... Lucas hesitated as he gently placed his hand on the door handle. Gathering his strength before quickly pulling down the handle and pushing the door open, Lucas was instantly bathed in bright light and the scent of roses as he stumbled into the room. When Lucas' eyes adjusted to the light he instantly froze. The room was incredibly large with gold tile floors, large pillars, an inverted pyramid-shaped roof (also made of gold with multiple chandeliers), many potted plants, lounges, a large pool in the center with gold stairs all around it, rose petals floating in the water, but the most amazing part of the room sat 10 feet or so from Lucas with his back facing towards Lucas sitting on the edge of the pool wearing black swimming shorts was the Prince of Draconia Himself.
Lucas stood still immediately, to not surprise the Prince, who didn't seem to notice Lucas' presence yet. The Prince was sitting on the edge of the pool with his legs in the water leaning on his arms. He had two black horns turned backward against his jet-black spiky hair. The prince also had pale skin on a muscular yet skinny frame- similar to a cat, a long black tail with a bit of black fluff at the end that swished back behind him happily, pointed pierced ears, and an iron shackle around his neck... Against any sane person's judgment, Lucas slowly crept up toward the Prince in a trance-like motion. ten feet, six feet, four feet...Lucas crept closer and closer to the stranger. But just as Lucas was about to touch the Prince's shoulder the Prince whirled around and slapped Lucas directly in the cheek, causing Lucas to stumble back with a yelp. Just as Lucas hit the ground he felt the weight of the Prince land on top of him, along with the blunt edge of a blade to his neck as the Prince yelled "Who are you?!" Lucas slowly opened his eyes "No, who are YOU?!" Lucas retorted with a frown as he struggled under the Prince's grip, but that's when The Prince scoffed
"I'm Prince Nico, dummy!"
(Who's the dummy now?)
