Lucas had to blink a few times before he finally asked "...The study of the flesh?" the silver-haired woman nodded, a small smile on her face "Yes. Anatomy, biology, all of those wonderful sciences." It was somewhat odd to see a woman of such stature and superiority so eager and excited by theories and flesh, perhaps it was just a cultural difference, or maybe...just maybe...Valeria wasn't the saint she looked to be. Lucas tilted his head "So..." Valeria ignored him and continued." Draconians are a very diverse and unique species, since our beginnings we have had 2 main groups that we identify our powers as belonging to Basileus and Kenosis.
Kenosis is the weaker of the two, those born with lesser powers and Basileus are those born with mighty, earth-shattering powers, Basileus is royal blood." Luke nodded slowly, somewhat understanding "So, shifters are put into two categories based on power?" Valeria nodded "There are more than two categories, of course. Basileus and Kenosis are for magical power, while Megalo and Minimus are for physical prowess.
Megalo is the larger type, and Minimus is the smaller." Luke nodded once more "I see...so, what does Nico count as?" Valeria sighed "Nico...nobody knows." Luke froze in confusion "How? He's your brother, surely you've seen-" The silver-haired beauty stopped him "No one has ever seen Nico's form, and so we don't know what he is classified as. But with his royal blood, we do know that he should be a Basileus at the least." Luke sighed, trying to hide his disappointment "Well...what do you know?" She was quiet for a long while "I know that Nico is one boy you can never fully trust, he may seem normal- but that boy...he sees things in red. I guarantee it." "What do you mean by that?" Valeria quickly intervened "Take it how you like," her eyes narrowed "But don't trust him." A stubborn frown began to form on Lucas' lips "How do you know you can't trust him?" he huffed. Valeria raised an eyebrow "I've known him all my life- you make it sound like you're trying to defend someone you have never met." Lucas froze- He had forgotten that nobody knew about his and Nico's two unfortunate encounters. Lucas quickly relaxed his face, not wanting to reveal his shock. "I'm merely asking to give your brother a fair judgment. The kingdom of Asteria believes in equality." Valeria paused for a moment, before her voice quieted "You didn't believe in equality thousands of years ago, or preserving life, or accepting creatures different from you...
"You didn't believe in equality when you shot us from the sky like doves."
