Chapter Twenty Eight

‘’Grrrrrrrrrr!’’ They circled each other in ferocious growls. The Boltcat that wanted to fight him was Shadow; and Asher did not have the heart to fight his mother. ‘’Stop this!’’ Dylan broke them up!... ‘’Don’t hurt each other, you’ll regret it!’’ He shouted. Asher finally decided to speak up! ‘’Shadow, i’m your son.’’ … And as soon as he said this, she stopped her hostility. ‘’You are?'’ She lowered her voice. Asher remembered he had the power to heal himself, so using the small amount of sorcery he had as a Conjurer, his wounds began to disappear. ‘’Asher?’’ Shadow gasped, shocked at his ability to use mana. ‘’You really are my son.’’ Her heart dropped, and she approached him. ‘’That’s what Kalcron the Revealer says.’’ He yowled. ‘’This whole time i believed your mother was Regan,’’ … ‘’The Ultra-terrestrials wiped my memory,’’ She took a long thought, ‘’Shortly after the death of Regan, i started to fall in love with Blaze; and come to think of it, i do remember laying eggs.’’ She continued. ‘’That only means one thing,’’ Asher paused. ‘’You must be my mom.’’ He gave her a comforting lick between the ears. … ‘’Asher it is true Gabe killed Blaze, and in his mind he had a reason, your father accidentally killed a good sorcerer, and he sentenced him to death.’’ … ‘’I’m the only one who knows of this. I’ve seen him kill Blaze myself, but i haven’t told anyone.’’ She confessed. The other members of the pack, Alcon, Ethan, and Zorra, all stared at them in shock. … ‘’The reason I didn't want you to kill Gabriel, was because i was starting to like him, like a father figure i never had, but now that he is dead, I realize he is a monster.’’ …
Shadow turned to the crowd. ‘’My son is right, Gabriel is a monster, he killed Blaze; he deserved a death much more painful than this.’’ … The fellow Boltcats gasped. ‘’Alcon, i suppose you are the leader now!’’ She announced. ‘’I’m sorry Asher,’’ She turned to him. ‘’I realize if i kill you, i am no better than he is.’’ … Now that all this drama was over, Asher said goodbye to Shadow, and him and Dylan left…

It was going to take some time for Asher to get over this, but maybe now his prophecy has been revealed. Beware of someone you think you know. This could apply to much more than that time Felicity tricked them. Dylan on the other hand, still had to wonder about his prophecy… Strangely when Asher thought about what he did to the one who used to be his leader, he was filled with a strange grief; he did not regret killing him, nor could he believe he was dead…

Asher decided he was getting hungry, and went off to go eat a shrew. As he was looking down, enjoying the fleshy meat, he heard a ferocious, familiar growl. In front of him stood a vicious fiery dog; like the one owned by Orville. It's muzzle snapping as it tried to bite him. It’s hellish barks scared him out of his fur. The fur on his back raised, and with extended claws, he cut deeply into the hellish dog’s muzzle…

‘’Asher that hurt.’’  Beneath that zombified creature was Toni, she transformed into herself. She wiped the blood dripping from her nose to her cheek. ‘’I’m sorry!’’ Asher looked at her in disbelief. The fur on his back was still erect from terror, as he told her she shouldn't have done that. Dylan then rushed to her. ‘’Toni, are you okay?!’’ … ‘’What are you doing so close to water?!’’ He rushed. ‘’I’ll fix you.’’ Asher used his powers to heal her, the slice that she had now disappeared.

‘’I have come to you with some important things, number one, i’m dangerously low on water, number two, a wizard has been terrorizing me, and trying to break into my cabin, I’d like for you two to kill him.’’

Dylan stared at her in shock. ‘’But i have never killed a wizard before, they are far too powerful.’’
