Chapter 16

Anna's Pov

Ashton came back after 25 mins and he had too much stuff in his hand. And by stuff I was referring to meds. He sat down near me "I'll be giving you these meds, they are going to be a high dose so you will probably be sleeping most of the time." I just looked at him with a small smile and a nod.

"And yes, you are on complete bed rest for next 5 days, so just focus on resting and getting better" he said this to me but I am still too stressed about my studies.

Luke's pov

Ashton left house. I went back to Anna's room. Sat near her. Brushed some hairs on her forehead "I'm so sorry Anna for not listening to you earlier today"

"I'll talk to your professor as well"

She just nodded at me with a faint smile.

She hold my hand and pulled it closer to her. This gesture melted my heart. Soon Ashton came back. He did what he is good at and now Anna is sleeping.

We are still in her room. He looked at me with a serious expression "she missed today's dinner, but don't let the same thing happen again tomorrow" "I'll be back tomorrow to give her meds and check on her"

"Thanks Ashton" this is the best I could say at that moment.

"Mistakes happens, it's important that you realise it, now don't feel too guilty for that, you have to look after her properly from nowon" he said with a sad smile.

With that he left. I checked on Anna before going to bed and I drifted off to sleep.

Getting up early at 5.30 am, I went to Anna's room to check on her. She was sleeping peacefully. She looked innocent even while sleeping, how could I not listen to her. I was about to leave her room, she started coughing. I went to her, have her water to sip on , but she could not even drink that. I started rubbing her back, pulled her near me, her body is radiating heat.
After a good 10 mins of coughing and crying she finally stopped.

I texted Ashton right away and then went to wake up Lily. "Wake up bunny" in a soft voice. "Hmmm" the only reply I got. I settled on her bed," wakey wakey, the sun is out, you should be out of your bed now" I said while removing her blanket.

She struggled and got her blanket back, "noo dad, wait some more time".

"I have to go darling" I replied.

"Where? It's very early for your job" she said.

"I'm not going to my job, I'm going to make some breakfast. I'm making bacons" I said with a smile.

"I like them, but why u r at home today??" Confusion spread across her face.

"Anna is really sick, so I have to stay at home"

"Dadd!! You never stayed at home when I got sick, then why with her?""
She seems already mad and frustrated.

"Darling, it's a different case, she's really sick, not kidding, Ashton will be here to check on her in a while, we all can have breakfast together "

"Ok dad" well this reply came with a frustrated voice.
