The Red Keep was often a place of grandeur, where every corner held echoes of power and ambition. But within the walls of the nursery, it was a different world altogether—a place filled with warmth, laughter, and the gentle murmur of a child's breath. The sunlight streamed through the tall windows, casting a golden hue over the room where Visenya lay nestled in soft blankets, her silver hair glowing like a halo.

Rhaenyra sat beside the cradle, her face alight with affection as she gazed down at her baby sister. For all the tumult that surrounded Visenya's birth, she had brought an unexpected joy into Rhaenyra's life. The little girl's presence was a balm to the wounds left by her mother's death, and Rhaenyra had taken it upon herself to care for her sister with a devotion that surprised even her.

"Alicent, look at her," Rhaenyra whispered, not wanting to disturb the peaceful slumber of the infant. "She's perfect, isn't she?"

Alicent Hightower, Rhaenyra's closest friend, stood by the window, arranging a vase of freshly picked flowers. She turned with a soft smile, walking over to join Rhaenyra at the cradle. "She truly is, Rhaenyra. She has your mother's beauty."

Rhaenyra nodded, her smile tinged with sadness. "She does... and Father's eyes." Her voice wavered slightly, the memory of her father's cold dismissal still fresh in her mind. But she pushed the thought away, focusing instead on the small miracle before her.

Alicent reached down, gently stroking Visenya's cheek with the back of her finger. "She's lucky to have you. You'll be the best sister she could ever ask for."

Rhaenyra's heart swelled with pride at Alicent's words. She had never imagined herself in the role of caretaker, but now that it had fallen to her, she found a fierce determination growing within her. Visenya would want for nothing as long as Rhaenyra had breath in her body.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, as Visenya grew under the watchful eyes of Rhaenyra and Alicent. The bond between the two friends only deepened as they cared for the baby together, sharing in the joys and challenges of raising a child.

One afternoon, as the warm breeze drifted in through the open windows, Rhaenyra and Alicent were playing with Visenya on the floor of the nursery. The baby, now several months old, was crawling clumsily across the soft carpet, her chubby legs kicking with determination.

"Come on, Visenya," Rhaenyra encouraged, her voice filled with laughter. "You can do it!"

Visenya looked up at her sister with those striking blue eyes, a look of concentration on her tiny face. With a grunt of effort, she pushed herself onto her hands and knees and began to crawl toward Rhaenyra.

Alicent clapped her hands in delight. "Look at her go! She's so strong already."

Rhaenyra beamed with pride, holding out her arms to catch Visenya as she made her way across the room. When the baby finally reached her, Rhaenyra scooped her up and spun her around, eliciting a squeal of pure joy from the little girl.

"You're going to be a fierce little dragon, aren't you?" Rhaenyra cooed, pressing a kiss to Visenya's forehead. The baby giggled, grabbing a handful of Rhaenyra's hair and tugging on it playfully.

As the months passed, Visenya continued to grow, her personality beginning to emerge in delightful ways. She was a curious and adventurous child, always eager to explore her surroundings and discover new things. Her laughter was a constant source of joy in the Red Keep, filling the halls with a lightness that had been absent since Aemma's death.

Rhaenyra and Alicent spent their days teaching Visenya how to walk, encouraging her with gentle words and endless patience. It wasn't long before Visenya took her first wobbly steps, her face lighting up with triumph as she moved from one piece of furniture to another.
