The war was not over, not yet.

King's Landing had been secured for King Aegon II Targaryen, but the fires of rebellion still flickered across Westeros, threatening to reignite the flames of war. The Black Queen, Rhaenyra, was dead, but her cause had not died with her. In the Riverlands, banners of defiance still flew high, and the Lads, as they had come to be called, were marching toward the capital with fire in their hearts and vengeance on their minds.

At their head rode Lord Kermit Tully, heir to Riverrun, a young man hardened by war yet unyielding in his resolve to see justice done. By his side rode his trusted companions: Lord Benjicot Blackwood, often called Bloody Ben, whose reputation for savagery on the battlefield was growing by the day, and Alysanne Blackwood, known as Black Aly, a woman as fierce and relentless as any knight. Together, they commanded an army of rivermen, battle-worn and hungry for the blood of those who had betrayed their cause.

Their goal was simple: take King's Landing, oust the usurper, and restore order to the realm. But standing in their way was the formidable Lord Borros Baratheon, a man who had earned his place as one of the most feared lords in Westeros. Borros had always been a man of war, a brutal tactician who reveled in the chaos of battle. And now, with his forces standing between the Lads and the capital, he intended to crush their rebellion once and for all.

The two armies met on the kingsroad, a long stretch of open ground just outside the city, where the fate of the realm would be decided. The rivermen were outnumbered, their ranks thinner than they had been at the height of the war. But what they lacked in numbers, they more than made up for in determination. Borros Baratheon, confident in his position and his superior numbers, expected an easy victory. He would soon learn how wrong he was.

On the first day of battle, Bloody Ben Blackwood led his men in a savage charge, targeting the right flank of Borros's army with a ferocity that left the Baratheon forces reeling. Ben, though young, fought with a viciousness that belied his age. His sword cut through enemy ranks like a scythe through wheat, his eyes burning with the fury of one who had lost too much and had nothing left to lose. Under his command, the flank of Borros's army began to buckle, their formation crumbling as the rivermen pressed their advantage.

But the Baratheon lord was no stranger to warfare, and he responded with brutal efficiency. Borros personally led his knights into the fray, cutting down men with the precision of a seasoned killer. His warhammer, heavy and unyielding, swung with deadly force, crushing the skulls of any who dared stand in his way. Lords Darry and Mallister, two of the rivermen's staunchest supporters, fell to Borros's hand, their bodies broken on the blood-soaked field.

It seemed, for a moment, that Borros might turn the tide of the battle in his favor. But then the arrows came.

From the rear of the rivermen's ranks, Black Aly unleashed her archers. The sky darkened as a rain of arrows descended upon the Baratheon forces, cutting down knights and soldiers alike. Borros's men, confident in their armor and strength, were ill-prepared for the precision and ruthlessness of the Blackwood archers. They fell in droves, their horses screaming as the arrows pierced their flesh. Borros himself was forced to retreat, his forces in disarray as the rivermen surged forward.
