real life;
tyla & graciethe ceremony went like planned, the vows brang tears, rings were successfully exchanged and still tyla was more nervous than ever. maybe it was caused by the fact that her literal ex girlfriend was sitting next to her.
"let's talk," tyla said right after the ceremony ended, and pulled gracie behind her through the venue into a bathroom.
"okay, what do you want to talk about?" gracie leanded against the basin.
"i don't know. but this is weird."
"i can leave anytime, you know i've told you that."
"i don't want you to leave!"
"okay, okay, i'll stay."
"good," tyla scoffed. "have you gotten any weird questions yet? you know my relatives."
"not yet, not much time for them. but i'm sure they'll start asking soon."
tyla covered her face with her hands and let out a frustrated sigh, which caused gracie to laugh a little. gracie gently took her hands down from her face, lingering a little longer than necessary in the touch.
"are you alright?" she asked tyla.
"well, if you count, being excited to meet an online stranger and feeling torn to them, texting with them for months only to then figure out that it's your ex, under alright, then yes, i'm alright."
"if you put it that way it actually sounds ridiculous."
"because it is. and what am i supposed to tell everyone out there? 'meet gracie, no we're not together, no we're not friends, in fact she is the one i saw my future with before she abandoned me.' doesn't seem like a good plan to me."
