The courtroom erupted into chaos the moment the words left the lawyer's mouth. The public were outraged by the accusations and began shouting incoherent statements about their opinions. The other side were excited that the defendants had a chance of winning.
Arguments spread across the courtroom like wildfire whilst the judge tried to regain control over his courtroom by shouting and slamming his gavel, "Order! Order in the courtroom!"
Minho glanced over at Chan who was completely unnerved. Among all the chaos, Chan was the only one sat in silence, just waiting.
How could he be so calm? Who knew what the other side would ask him? They could try and discredit him yet he didn't react.
After things calmed down, the prosecutor turned to the judge and said, "Your Honour, this is an absurd and baseless accusation against my client only to throw this trial of it's course."
"We have reason to believe that the evidence presented by the prosecution may have been compromised. We request an immediate inquiry into these allegations," the defence attorney argued.
The judge shuffled in his seat with his eyes narrowed on his stern face, "Are you saying that the prosecution has fabricated evidence? This is a very serious accusation, sir. If you have any proof of this, you must present it now."
"I will present the evidence when the time comes," the defending lawyer said smugly, glancing over at the prosecution. His plan was working. If he could get them riled up enough, they wouldn't be able to make rational choices.
"Why you-" the prosecutor clenched his fists.
"Counsellor, need I remind you that we're in a courtroom right now?" The judge said then made the decision to adjourn for the day and they could continue where they left off the following week.
That gave Chan and Minho some time to figure out how to deal with Taejun's sleazy lawyer.

"How could you not tell us you used to know Taejun before he was hired at the company?" Minho asked when they got back to his place.
"I didn't think it was important.." Chan sighed, beelining straight to the fridge to grab a cold drink.
"That's your solution? Getting drunk?" Minho scoffed in disbelief as he watch Chan chug one after another. It didn't take long for his frustration to turn into concern. He had never seen his partner so dysfunctional before. "Hey, slow down you're gonna make yourself sick-"
He wasn't wrong. Not long later, he found himself comforting the older in the bathroom whilst he was throwing up in the toilet.
"What's gotten into you?" Minho asked softly, staring down at Chan in concern whilst rubbing his back, "I'm meant to be the stupid one making stupid decisions. You're meant to be the sensible one. Did something happen?"
"I'm fine.." Chan mumbled, resting his head on his arm before suddenly stumbling on to his feet and swaying side to side as he went to rinse his mouth out with mouthwash.
"Easy," Minho supported his partner and tried to help him to a spare room but ended up dropping him on the ground.
"Shit. Sorry. Are you okay?" Minho apologised, checking to make sure the older wasn't hurt.
"How are you so okay?" Chan asked, his words slightly slurred. Minho looked at him confused. "Even when the person you like doesn't like you back, you can still carry on with your life like it's nothing.. how?"
"What are you talking about?" Minho asked at a loss to what Chan was trying to say, "You're drunk. Let's get you to bed and I'll take you home in the morning, okay?"
