When I came into work today I expected a flat same old day. But when the family that was the talk of my school walked in I instantly knew that I had been wrong. Miss Emerson was making more than four plates of food and was having trouble figuring out how to carry them all. I happened to be the closest person to her and she looked at me and asked for some help, so I said yes.

Dusk had mentioned that Ember was looking more and more like a woman, I was skeptical at first but when I saw her at my job. I was astounded by how much Ember had grown up, just like Dusk had said. She looked like a woman now.

"Hello, here's your order sir. Enjoy." When I put the two plates of food I held down, I had only glanced sideways at her and found her gaze fixated on me.

I gave her a small smile making her look away so fast that she almost fell over. Walking away I almost passed Lucien and tapped his shoulder. When he looked up at me it was a magnificent sight to behold, his pearl white eyes and lips formed a confused face which made it even cuter. Getting ahold of myself I cleared my throat and gestured towards the Emerson's.

"See that red haired chick?" He nodded and looked over my shoulder, not like he could. He was too short.

"You mean the girl looking at us right now?" S-s-she WHAT!? Spinning on my heels I whipped around as Lucien waved meekly at her and smiled.

"Would you stop that!" Taking hold of his arm I half dragged him off to the back, and "tossed" him into the back alleyway.

"What's the big idea?! That was rude." Caspian noticed the way Ember had looked at him and Lucien, especially Lucien. "What is wrong with you?"

"It's nothing. Remember the pact? Keep an eye on them. But stay away. Ring a bell at all?" Lucien raised his hand and said nothing and lowered his hand again. Instead he put both hands together behind his head and stuck his hip out to the side a little in an elegant sort of way.

"Unlike you, I'm not the rude sort of person to ignore a lady. It would be rude to ignore her, no. It IS rude to ignore her." Caspian's eyebrow twitched and then he laughed sarcastically and then turned his back on his companion, he tapped his foot on the stone concrete while tapping his chin with a gloved finger. "This will certainly complicate things for me."

"What. . . ?" Caspian waved a hand at his colleague and closed his eyes thinking for a moment, then it hit him. "I don't like this. When you do this sort of thing you end up running away from your problem. And that's not the way to deal with it."

"I am done running. I've made that very clear when I roomed with you and Barraza." Rolling his eyes Lucien had turned away as Caspian muttered something.

"What did you say?"

"I said, get out of my sight and go home." Lucien's pearly eyes widened as his colleague said those words to him, he had never seen him speak so rudely or coldly to him.

"Very well." Lucien turned away his eyes tearing up and said nothing as he walked away, clearly feeling bad.

When Lucien was very much gone Caspian went back inside and just saw Lucien disappear from sight walking in the pouring rain, hugging himself. Caspian felt a pang of guilt in his heart and thought about chasing him down and apologising to him. As the Emerson's left, Caspian changed his clothes and followed them to their cab. Once the Emerson's had cleared the road Caspian bolted after Lucien.

-(Change of view)- Lucien

When he yelled at me I wasn't thinking when I got out of Panda Express, I was walking home. Drenched in rain, cold and wet. I
had walked a block or two when I swore that I heard his voice. But when I looked up all I saw was trees and blurred lines, so naturally I kept going.

That's when I started to run, I didn't know why I was but I just started to run. I ran with my eyes basically blinded I think I ran into a four way and a few bright lights flashed on and then I was plowed into.

I thought I was dead, something happened to me and I didn't know what it was but I did know that I was most likely dead. I remember bright lights, and something hitting me in the back flattening me against the pavement. The ringing in my ears was one indication that I was still alive. A soft panting sound was coming from above me, rain poured down from the sky as loose pebbles dug into my skin. I could hear the broken voice of a man, a gentle breeze touched my skin as the heavy weight lifted off my back.

Opening my eyes, I could barely see the dark pool of thick blood pooling around my own arm and under my face. The pain I felt was all becoming numb from the invisible pain and wound I couldn't see, a shadow loomed over me and a tender hand touched my back. I winched at the touch, sparks of needle point prick's pierced my skin.

I thought about what had happened just now and to think about it, I felt like an ant that got stepped on. I remember running blind basically into. Maybe I ran into the road. . . That's it. I had been hit by a car or truck. The shadow above me leaned closer as a gloved hand pulled me upright leaning me against something warm and trembling. I felt the blood run down my face and down my neck as rain washed it away.

A tender hand touched the side of my head as the trembling person who held me kept getting worse. A meek sorrowful voice choked out pitiful tears.

"I-I'm so sorry-" The person I figured that was crying was indeed Caspian, he had followed me and saw the whole scenario play out. "I-I didn't mean it. . . Please come back to me."

In his embrace I felt like I could fall asleep and be safe, my eyes adjusted to the darkness of night and I managed to get his attention with a deep intake of breath. He turned my chin up to meet his eyes, his hair was plastered to his skin his mask gone as the sound started coming back to the world around me.

"L-Lucien. . YOU'RE ALIVE!" He started to cry and laughed at the same time as he hugged me closer, muttering between his weird cute sobbing. "Please forgive me, I was so worried about you and thank Thor you're okay!"

"Y-y-you love sick fool. . ." Caspian looked shocked, I really did just called him a love sick fool. "C-can we go home. . ?"

"No, we are going to the hospital. You're bleeding out still." I didn't like the sound of that one bit. But he was so happy to see me alive and I couldn't let him down. . I needed him and he needed me. "And you're right, Lucien. I am a love sick fool."

He smiled and turned my chin up with a gloved finger, as he hugged me closer the familiar sound of an ambulance approaching burst through the sound of rain and soon red and blue lights pierced the darkness. The clatter of feet on stone told me help was coming for me. Medical staff were making their way to us as fear crept up my spine.

"Don't leave me Caspian." He brushed his fingers through my hair and smiled at me.

"I'm going no where." He leaned his face down and laid a soft kiss on my forehead, he was so gentle with me. He knew I was hurting so much, so he made sure to be extremely careful.

A figure loomed over me as a cold hand grabbed my wrist and whispered something to Caspian, a small pinprick erupted in my wrist as the medical aid injected something into my bloodstream. I couldn't hear much of the conversation they had with Caspian and so it was nothing more because whatever was injected into my blood was taking effect and making me fall asleep in his arms. I felt lightheaded from the injection and I was lifted off the ground as bright lights flashed from red to blue, bright lights shown on my face making me press my face against his chest.

Lucien's eyes slowly adjusted to the ambulance's bright lights and he found himself laying down on a stretcher in the back with Caspian close to his side holding his hand in his, Caspian tenderly combed Lucien's hair as the ambulance rushed them to the hospital.
