CHAPTER 2: A hidden feeling
Snivy couldn't sleep, she still was thinking about what to say to Oshawott, her Pal of adventure during the process to stop Darkrai. Her mind was very untranquil. What should she say to him? Was it a good idea to pay heed what her heart said? She couldn't be relaxed in any moment when she was in lay down in her bed. The grass snake got used to be sleep alone in her room, but, for some reason, she didn't feel like any other night, she felt more alone than she already was. The Arbor Area's princess lacked company, company of someone. It was a feeling that covered her whole body on coldness. She lacked warmth, like that occasion where she was cold when she was sleeping in Oshawott's house. Snivy remembered that occasion when he gave her a thick blanket so that she wasn't cold for that night. He was so kind by doing that, it was a nice detail that she liked a lot. She could easily talk with Leavanny to make a thicker blanket for the grass snake, but it lacked something.
She felt alone, but when she was with Oshawott, she was enjoying with him of the sleepovers that they made, they were very fun. It was a nice experience that they would keep saved in their memory, and they were going to remember forever. Snivy remembered those times when they fought each other for not being agreed on something, they thought that they wouldn't be Pals anymore, but they continued forward with their adventure to stop Darkrai. She felt cold now because of the loneliness, but when she was sleeping next to her Pal, she felt a nice and comfort feeling that made her feel good. Love for Oshawott? How can be possible? The snake only knew the love that her mother gave her, but from her Pal? She realized that felt something deep in her heart for him, that was inactive all this time until it bloomed like a flower in spring. Flower, like the ones that Oshawott was giving to her during those days.
Snivy was very thoughtful by that. What could she do? Maybe tomorrow in the morning she would have the answer to that mystery. She slept after a while.
Oshawott, meanwhile, was very impatient, he couldn't sleep for the answer that, according to him, would mark him for all his life. What if all that he had made was in vain? What would he do afterwards if she rejects him? Would Snivy continue being his friend after all? The otter remembered what Samurott said to his student in one occasion: that, despite the possibility of being rejected by her, they would continue being friends, that friendship bond would be unbreakable. He was still insecure, could really love born between Oshawott and Snivy, an otter and a snake, a detective and a princess, a commoner and a royalty? It seemed that everything was against him, but he didn't want to give up yet. He only had to wait her answer when it's morning, now he just focused to sleep as comfort as he could.
The morning arrived and Snivy exited from her little house to see Oshawott, who was in the same spot as always. He was hyped for his Pal's decision. The grass snake came closer, however, she stopped for a moment. What's wrong with her? the otter thought. After taking a deep breath, she came closer to him again.
"Hello... Snivy." Oshawott greeted shyly.
"Hi... Oshawott." Greeting in the same way as him.
"Umm... Have you thought in what I told you yesterday?"
"Yeah, quite enough."
"So, what do you think, Snivy?"
The princess was thoughtful in that moment, but she had to settle with the decision that she took before coming closer to Oshawott. She said:
"Oshawott, you can be a serious Pokémon that always focuses in his job of investigate anything suspicious, we could have had some problems in the beginning after meeting each other for the first time, but... honestly... uh... One thing before: do you really love me?"
"Yes, of course, Snivy. It was because that I've proposed to you to be my girlfriend with so many failed attempts. It was difficult to me to get the best flowers that I could give you, even searching in very hidden areas in the Cove Area. I did it so you can be happy, and because I love you."
Those words made her think quite enough. Oshawott held Snivy's hands and continued talking.
"I still remember the two occasions that we had a sleepover in our houses. I enjoyed so much be next to you, play with you, sleep with you, even eat breakfast with you, I know that both of us didn't like the breakfast those two occasions, but I liked to be with you. That's what I really feel for you."
"Oh, Oshawott..."
Snivy was still doubtful, but she saw her Pal's, those bright eyes, that cute smile, the fact that he was holding her hands so gentle, and his gentlemanly and sweet way to talk with her. What could she say?
"Snivy, do you want to be my girlfriend?"
After thinking about it for a moment, that was her answer:
"Yeah, I accept being your girlfriend."
Hearing that made Oshawott so happy, he wanted to shout, to dance, to celebrate with all the happiness that he had.
"I'm glad that you feel the same as I do, Snivy. I love you."
"I love you too, Oshawott."
Oshawott closed his eyes and prepared himself to give a kiss, but Snivy felt a bit uncomfortable and backed away a little. The otter noticed that and asked her:
"Is something wrong?"
The snake didn't know what to say about the reaction she did. She said:
"Uuuh... I... this... I think that..."
"You're not ready to give the kiss, are you?"
"I think it's that."
"Don't worry, if that makes you feel uncomfortable, let's not do it, but we are boyfriend and girlfriend after all, are you happy with that?"
"Yeah, that's it."
There was a silence of a few seconds, until Snivy said:
"I have to go now, I have important things to do, doesn't that bother you or it does?"
"It's nothing wrong. When you have free time, you can be with me if you want."
"Yeah, I'll keep it mind. Bye."
"Bye."
Snivy went to her house to do her shores. Oshawott, meanwhile, celebrated with so much happiness. After many failed attempts, he could tell her that he loves her. And not just that, she also loves him. It was the best day of his life. He had to tell Samurott. The Sea Otter Pokémon went running to the lighthouse to tell him about his new girlfriend. Everything that he had made was completely worth it.
