"And you expect me to believe that four teenage boys and a baby Vulpimancer took down the Rooters—some of the most wanted criminals in the galaxy?" the Plumber asked, arms crossed, eyes narrowed.
We sat across from him in a sterile interrogation room. He wore a standard Plumber suit—Omniverse-style—with a digital clipboard in hand. I sat directly across from him, Kacchan on my left, Todoroki and Kirishima on my right. Riot nestled calmly in Kirishima's lap.
After our ship auto-landed in Hangar D, we were met with blasters aimed at our heads. Once they realized we were just teens, they lowered their weapons and let us explain. Todoroki thawed the Rooters' frozen bodies so they could be moved, along with the alien prisoners. Then came the interrogation.
I've never been good at lying. So, with Kacchan's help, we spun a story: we were captured for experiments, escaped by picking our cell locks, and used a malfunctioning freeze gun to take them down. It was plausible. Barely.
"Hey, you checked the ship!" Kacchan snapped, slamming his fist on the table. "Other than those test aliens, we were the only ones there. How is that hard to believe!?"
The Plumber didn't flinch. "What I believe is that you haven't told me everything. None of you has mentioned where you're from or how to contact your parents. For all I know, you're runaways. Or delinquents."
I felt the tension rise. Sparks crackled between Kacchan's teeth. Riot growled low. Todoroki's stare turned glacial. Kirishima's eyes narrowed.
I was about to speak when the door burst open.
A man stepped in—massive, commanding, dressed in a white Plumber's suit. His build was heroic, his blond hair spiked in two tufts. The air shifted.
"A-All Might, sir!" the interrogator stammered, leaping to his feet.
"I just returned from a mission," the newcomer said, voice deep and calm. "I noticed an unfamiliar ship in the hangar. I was told it belonged to the Rooters. Then I heard four teens were being interrogated. Since when do Plumbers have the authority to do that?"
"I... I mean... they're just kids..."
"So you took matters into your own hands?"
"I..."
"And you have no proof it wasn't them?"
The Plumber clutched his clipboard like a shield. All Might's presence reduced him to a rookie.
Todoroki and Kirishima exchanged glances. Kacchan smirked. I felt a knot in my stomach as All Might turned his gaze toward me.
"I'll take over this interrogation. Report back to the commander."
The Plumber nodded and exited, defeated.
All Might sat across from us, smiling warmly. "Apologies. He's new. Follows the rules a bit too tightly."
"Ugh, guys like that are the worst," Kacchan muttered. Todoroki nodded silently.
"I'm Magister Toshinori Yagi," he said. "Captain of the Plumber's Alien Raider Army. Around here, they call me Magister All Might."
"I'm..." I hesitated, glancing at Kacchan. "Captain Deku."
"Using an alias, huh?"
We flinched. He saw through it instantly.
"Don't worry. What we say here stays here. You can be honest."
We exchanged looks. Then, slowly, we told him the truth—our real names, our origins, our capture. We left out the Omnitrix and our powers, but shared enough.
