The operation had begun.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. My heart was pounding like a war drum. But as captain of the Omni-ship—and of this crew—I couldn't let it show. Fear had no place here. I had to swallow it whole and move forward.
After yesterday's meeting, Kirishima and I got a direct call from Uraraka and Ashido. As expected, they bombarded us with questions: How did you get your own ship? Why didn't you tell us you had a full crew? I did my best to explain—said we didn't want to overwhelm them, that things happened by chance. But with the mission looming, I promised to give them the full story afterward. The real story.
They were now aboard a transport ship from Ultranos, just like they said they would be. I couldn't help but worry. I didn't know what divine force watched over this galaxy, but I silently prayed for their safety.
And then—just for a moment—I thought I saw them. Uraraka and Ashido, sitting among other adventurers, faces determined. But I wasn't with them. So how did I see it?
"OI, NERD!"
Bakugo's shout snapped me out of my thoughts. I blinked, realizing I was in the pilot's seat of the Omni-ship. My crew—Kirishima, Todoroki, and Bakugo—were all in their positions, staring at me.
"You okay, Midoriya?" Todoroki asked calmly.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I replied.
"You sure, man?" Kirishima added. "You kinda spaced out."
I hesitated. "I don't know. I might've been daydreaming, but... I thought I saw Uraraka and Ashido. Or more like... I saw Ashido, but through Uraraka's eyes. I just... don't know."
Kirishima and Todoroki exchanged curious glances. Bakugo scoffed behind me.
"If you ask me, that's just your body telling you to hook up with the girl."
"H-HOOK UP?!" I sputtered, face burning.
"Heh. You know what I mean," he said, clearly teasing. "You wanna hold her by the—"
"LALALALALALALALAL!!!" I clapped my hands over my ears, trying to drown him out. But the mental image had already formed—Uraraka pulling me into a kiss so deep it left us breathless. Her hand around my neck. Her lips on mine. My pants tightened painfully.
"D-Don't say that, Kachan!" I groaned, pressing my hands against my lap to ease the tension. "We're still young! And she might not even feel the same way!"
"But you're legally an adult now," Todoroki said matter-of-factly. "If you had her consent, there's no issue."
Right. Galactic law. Fifteen and up meant adulthood—drinking, marriage, even sex. But I was raised in Japan. Those rules were still etched into my brain. Bakugo, of course, had no problem tossing them aside.
"You know," Kirishima said, trying to shift the mood, "when we finish this mission, we should throw a party to celebrate."
Riot howled in agreement—probably just excited for more meat.
"Hey Bakugo, mind sharing those bottles with me?" Kirishima asked.
"Tch. Get your own next time."
"You said next time, so I'll take that as a yes."
As they bickered, I smiled quietly. I wouldn't trade this crew for anything.
"Midoriya," Todoroki said, eyes on his console. "We're approaching our destination. Exiting lightspeed."
"Alright, guys. Let's do this."
"RIGHT!!!" the boys shouted in unison. Riot barked.
We'd been traveling at lightspeed alongside the other ships in the operation. The Omni-ship's AI handled the navigation—like a galactic autopilot. I must've dozed off somewhere along the way. That vision... was it really a dream?
