Every Ben Tennyson throughout space and time has had his fate intertwined with that of the Omnitrix, except for one. After fighting alongside his alternate counterparts to defeat Vilgax, Ben decided he'd fight alongside his grandfather by joining th...
A few days later, all four of us—Kirishima, Todoroki, Kacchan, and me—sat in our designated cockpit seats aboard the Omni-ship, Riot curled up at Kirishima's feet. The meeting was about to begin.
When I told Todoroki to accept the Plumbers' request, he did so by entering our crew name and ship ID into the Adventurers' system. Unlike us, most adventurers without their own ships had to hitch rides on public transport vessels to reach mission sites—like interstellar buses, complete with round-trip fees. But we had our own ship, our own fuel, and our own freedom.
Ashido and Uraraka had asked if we wanted to travel together, but I told them we had our own way. Their confused expressions lingered in my mind. I hadn't told them about the Omni-ship yet—not because I didn't trust them, but because I'd already revealed the Omnitrix. That alone was dangerous knowledge. If someone ever came after the watch, I didn't want them targeted just for being close to me.
"Damn it! What's taking so long? I'm so tired of waiting!" Kacchan growled from the co-pilot seat behind me.
"It's only five minutes past the scheduled time, Kacchan. I'm sure they'll—"
Ping.
The console lit up. Kirishima and Todoroki sat up. Riot perked his ears.
A massive screen flickered to life, displaying dozens of pop-up windows—each showing a different adventurer, their affiliation, and their ship. In one corner, I spotted Ashido and Uraraka sharing a camera feed, still in the same clothes from our last call. Ashido waved like she was at a concert; Uraraka gave a soft, shy wave. Kirishima and I waved back instinctively, even though we were probably being watched by half the galaxy.
Then, three windows expanded and aligned center-screen. Three unfamiliar faces appeared—each radiating a distinct vibe.
One looked energetic. One looked carefree. One looked like he hadn't smiled since birth.

I straightened in my seat. These three were clearly important.
"Hello everyone," said the stern one. "I am Senior Deputy Plumber Cadet Seiji Shishikura. For the duration of this operation, you will refer to me as Commander Seiji."
His voice was sharp, clipped, and full of self-importance. The kind of guy who probably ironed his socks.
"Why don't you go screw yourself," Kacchan muttered behind me.
I shot him a glare and held a finger to my lips. Thankfully, the next voice drowned him out.
"HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO EVERYONE!!!!!!!"
The guy on the left practically exploded through the screen. His shout was so loud, Riot yelped and Ashido visibly recoiled.
"I AM SENIOR PLUMBER CADET INASA YOARASHI!!! I HOPE WE CAN ALL GET ALONG!!!!!!!"
